I wanted to share my experience installing the JCW pro exhaust on the GP3.

I just collected my GP (#1748) - I had already bought the exhaust kit as I know I wanted it on the car. I made a video of the install and a comparison of the exhuast side by side.


There are no codes and no issues with the install, it will not void the warranty if you have the dealer install it, as a matter of fact it would be covered for 4 years.

Interesting- want to sell me your GP3 exhaust?

However... I’m curious if it’s not actually restrictive on the GP3. The Pro exhaust goes down to 2.5” at the tip, and the valve takes up a portion of that.

Hows the sound compare?

 

Yes I have no problem selling the GP3 exhaust

Sound is actually quieter with the flap closed and louder with it open, so an interesting trade from the factory. Car really needs pops!

I had the PRO exhaust installed on my 2016 F56JCW and then had it dynoed and realized an 8 HP increase with the exhaust opened. Do you plan to have your GP3 dynoed following your installation of the PRO exhaust? Thanks for the excellent video and instructions. I hope to pick up our GP3 sometime later this month. I have not been able to track its location since they off loaded it from the container ship in Baltimore.
