I owned a 2018 MINI Cooper S 2-door hardtop hatchback JCW from Dec.27, 2017 to I think sometime in May of 2020. Put about 25K miles on it. Great car. Was really hard to let it go but the reasons I have covered above at the start of this thread and I won't repeat them here.

Was a bit put off the dealer was talking about collecting sales tax from me. I have bought 3 cars in my state and not even the local dealers collect sales tax. But one is required to get this paid and the car registered in 30 days or else....

Got a call from the sales manager and BMW requires the dealer collect sales tax if the car is being financed. But I'm paying cash with a trade in and check to make up the difference. So the dealer doesn't have to collect sales tax for the state, county, city I live in. 'course, as per my state's vehicle laws I have to pay sales tax, register the vehicle, and surrender the title, all in 30 days of purchasing the car. Then within 30 days later my state mails the new title to me.

So now I feel better. Oh, sales manage wanted pics of the vehicle I'm trading in. It was pouring down rain when he said that. He said it could wait until the weather got better. Should be dry and sunny Sunday so I'll get some pics then and send them to him.
