Upgrade Question

hello everyone,

got 2 questions for anyone that could help.

1 - what is the lowest reduction pulley that a 210hp can take without either detonating or succumbing to heat soak?

2 - i have a snow performance methanol injection kit i originally had on my old truck years ago...would i need another tune if let’s say i put a 17-19% on with a 50/50 mixture? or will the 210hp tune handle this?

thanks

Most customers that have a JCW actually end up going to a 17% pulley. It will work great for a street car, but if you were going to track the car or run at high RPM all the time we would only recommend going to a 15%. Both will gain you more low end and power across the band.

so a JCW tune will handle the 17% with out a detonating problem? i understand heat soak starts becoming an issue when going greater percent pulley, but a 17% is safe for spirited driving?

Yes as long as you run premium fuel. But heat soak isn't as big an issue as the internet makes it out to be. Most my customers that had JCWs that wanted to upgrade the pulley went to 17% and we don't have a bunch of broken MINIs
