My March 2015 manual F56 S has it. Although my car remembers if I had it turned off or on for the last drive. I've been driving a 2020 F55 and a 2020 F54 as loaners for the last few weeks and they both have it on regardless if I turned it off. So that's kinda annoying. I wonder if BimmerCode could change it to be like my car.
Well, I looked at my 2015 JCW and the toggle is on there too! I’m embarrassed that I didn’t even know I had it! But, remembering the day we picked it up on July 1, 2015 my MA was going thru all the controls with me and I remember him saying, “You’re not gonna like this so I’ll turn it off!” LOL! It’s been off for 4 years! Totally forgot about it!
My habit when driving a manual is to always -- with few exceptions -- shift the transmission into neutral and release the clutch pedal. This helps prolong the life of the throw out/release bearing. I am adept enough that when the time comes I can depress the clutch and shift the transmission in to 1st and release the clutch and take off without holding up vehicles behind mine. (I when I can observe the lights for the other direction and often anticipate the light change.)
ive been driving manuals exclusively (with one exception..Jag F Type V8) for 30 years. Never had any transmission/clutch issues. But each to their own... If I recall correctly the UK driving test does say stay in gear only if at front of queue.
Reviving an old thread. I am looking to permanently disable auto start in my new 22 F57. Is bimmercide still the way to go for cod8ng. They keeping up with the latest models? Thanks. If not any other options to perfectly disable it.
