Gen 4 Mini slated for 2023 model year.

Motoringfile article said it will be delayed because Mini wants a new platform for the car and the current F series platform makes the car too expensive and too heavy/big. So they're gonna partner with Great Wall, a Chinese company. And it's possible the Mini will only be offered in an electric model. But they hedged a lot on that, cause the US market is not so electric. So I'm looking at replacing my 2014 JCW Coupe with maybe a 2021/22 JCW Clubman, aka The Lincoln Continental of Mini Coopers. Lol.

Sorry it won't let me copy/paste a link here.

So... What does this mean for the GP3?
I can guarantee you that I won't be buying a car made in china. Or vote for anyone pushing subsidies for the SJWs buying electric cars to show how compassionate they are.

Visiting China 3x in the last 2 years for work (work for a Chinese company), I can see why they would partner with a Chinese company. There aren't any regulations or opposition to mass producing electric cars like in the US. The technology behind their cars is better than anything Tesla will ever bring to the US.

60mins just did a great feature on the electric car boom/development 3 weeks ago.

The technology of whose cars if better than Tesla? BMW or the Chinese companies?

Apparently nobody in China gives a crap about polluting the country/world as long as they can surpass us as the world leader. Instead of going to war with countries will probably just pollute ourselves to death. I wont be around for that, I'll mention it to my kids and see the eye-rolls.

You're right of course. I like what you did there. Wonder how many of the youngsters got it?

Define youngsters?

This short thread didn't get political at all. It merely talks about BMW sending MINIs out to be produced in low cost environments. The rest of my comment has been

Anyone at least ten years younger than me?
Nope. Wasn't political at all, until I let my bias about electric cars slip out. Not apologizing for my viewpoint, everyone's got one. That just happens to be mine. I'll try to be more circumspect in the future.
If you don't mind, I'm gonna copy your "censored" illustration. Might find a use for that in the future.

What it means is that the Gen3 F series cars will get tweaked/updated for not only their 7th year (2020) but for 2021 and 2022 as well. Which is pretty cool, because they're pretty deluxe Minis compared to the G2's. I was gonna skip the G3s but now I may get one near the end of their production. For pure performance and handling I think I've got about the best stock Mini of all time, but in a few years I'll want a bit bigger cushier Mini like a JCW Clubman.

I’d be looking for a low mileage F54 JCW CPO car right now if I wouldn’t lose my shirt on my F56.

I want one as well. Wouldn't be selling the F56 so don't care about that part of it.

Certified Pre Owned. Has basically a new car warranty. In the case of my F56 it is warranted through 9/19 or 75K miles. Adds to the cost but worth it IMO.

If you get one then do the people quit calling you trying to sell you extended warranty insurance? I swear they call me every other day, nobody but them.

Heck my mini dealership has been sending me so many emails trying to get me to purchase every new mini they have on the lot that I blocked them! My salesman is a good mini buddy and has a beautifully self restored early one and a true miniac. I only deal with him! Bring on the GP!
