JCW Best timing chain kit?

Best timing chain kit?
I have a 2011 JCW with right at 100K mi. I am planning on taking the measurement with the tool, but the "death rattle" seems to be present. Any suggestions on which of the millions of timing chain kits out there you guy would recommend? Also are there any other preventive items to address while the job is being done. One thing I saw with a few kits was the inclusion of valve cover gaskets. Never had this one off so was curious if replacement of the gasket was necessary after every removal. Thanks in advance for the help.

Check our forum vendors - they have kits with all the pieces and parts you need. Plus you'll need the cam locking tools. I wouldn't try to re-use a head gasket with 100K on it. There's a lot of information here on the forum about doing the timing chain, do a search and read up. Also there was an extended warranty on the timing chain, check to see if you might be covered.
2011 JCW means N14 engine, at 100K I'd replace the vacuum pump. On the N14 the vacuum pump is a common failure for older/higher mileage engines, when the pump seizes it stops the exhaust camshaft and then best case you have bent valves. Worst case you buy a new engine.

We have a great kit which is ALL original MINI parts and it's the latest updated parts, not cheap aftermarket stuff. We also don't have any "fluff" parts that you don't need that just raise the price. This is the exact same kit we install in our shop everytime we do a timing chain.

I haven't seen any info from what I've read on replacing oil pump chain however it's an option on your kit. Is it necessary? Also someone earlier in the thread mentioned replacing the vacuum pump? What say you?

As for the vacuum pump I only would replace it if it is leaking or making noise. Otherwise I don't spend the money on it just cause.
