Boost question, 05, JCW

Finally got my vac/boost gauge mounted/connected.

I notice that when the boost is solid at any given value, it wavers by about a 1/2 a pound (+/- 1/2#).
Is this a case of the boost relief valve spring being weak, or is it a normal situation ?

Vacuum at idle or any varied location is very stable.

Is there a Damper in line with the gauge sensing tube?

No. The gauge is internally, lightly dampened.
As noted, the needle does not "hunt" at idle or steady speeds.
