Advice on details to mount front 2010 Jcw bumper on 2013 Mini Cooper

All - I have a 2013 Mini Cooper hatchback NON S. The bumper was scratched deeply so while looking locally I found a new oem JCW bumper that was for non S mini coolers! That said it was for the earlier Gen 2 up to 2010? Or so.

I removed the the original bumpet and was doing a test fit and it’s clear the lower bumper support is interfering however I’m confident I can cut out 3 square notches (1”x2”) on the Jcw number to make it fit perfectly. These notches would not be visablr as they are covered by the spoiler or side extensions.

before I commit to cutting the notches to clear the lower number support, I would like clarification on one item - the lower grill trim.

the Jcw bumper has a oem part number of 51110404108 which is listed on the ecs site.

One thing I would need advice on is the lower trim. It seems the original is not as wide so I’m prepared to buy the correct one however I’m noticing this lower trim is wider that the trim on the hood.

See photo

Is there a lower trim part that will fit the number but also align with the hood trim? Or is the hood grill opening just wider on 2013 S compared to a non S.

Any advice ice would be appreciated.

I believe once you actually get it hung on there right the lower grill part will match up to the hood...I think its just drooping out of place. I think the only difference is the radius where the grille meets bumper...the JCW was wider, but I think all the hoods were same so should like up.

There is a conversion kit for the bumper support:
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...4/51192185858/

The conversion kit will allow the bumper to mount correctly, and will also line up the tow hook receiver thread with the hole in the bumper.

ok that’s a good sign of the hood grille opening is the same.

So placed the old trim and grill on and there is a 1/4” gap on either end.....perhaps if I put in the Jcw lower trim it will true it all up....

thank you. I appreciate the link. I’m. It sure there will be a lot for what I’m doing. I’m putting a 2010 Jcw bumper on a 2013 Cooper.

Ill try try to make it fit with what’s on the car. I’m oknif the tow hook doesn’t line up.

I had to cut the lower support bar off for the bumper to fit. All lines up - the 2 torx screws underneath line up as well. The tow hook hole does not. Not a big deal from me.

Thanks!

I think what I'm doing is non standard i.e. fitting a 2010 JCW bumper on a 2013 Cooper - when I clicked on the link, and entered my vehicle info, it said it would not fit..I decided to just modify what I had - seems the JCW support does away with the lower horizontal bar anyway....

Maybe see if you can get lucky with car-part.com.

The key is to not search for the bumper...just scroll to "hood" or "fender" and youll get a ton that pop up with pictures...see if one has a JCW bumper by chance. If so maybe theyd sell the parts.
