JCW GarageInterested in John Cooper Works (JCW) parts for your 1st Generation MINI? This is where JCW upgrades and accessories for the Cooper (R50), Cabrio (R52), and Cooper S (R53) MINIs are discussed.
Welcome to NAM Steve. You’re JCW is sweet. So lucky to be around the legends. Any future plans on organizing something similar in the states? We’d love to have you.
Hiya the distance between us is vast so no plans from me as going to the states is a bucket list thing for me personally, but nothing to stop one of you guys doing your own version as you guys have the best selection of hard core gear heads there is and Im sure a event of the same type would be a success
That is beyond unbelievable, so cool. Yeah we got gear in the states. UK has all the aero and JCW stuff, wish it were the other way around. Congrats to that S1 plate, you own a piece of history.
lol, I'm more interested in the rally lights. More info pleeease, are the bulbs led?
hi there, these lights are marketed here in the UK as italian job light sets even though original 1960s minis from the original italian job movie had 3 and the US remake had 2, quite common to obtain over here and yes I replaced the halogen bulbs with led versions
Was planning on doing it myself but decided to hit the easy button and save myself the trouble.
Factory part is still available but couldn't bring myself to pay $60-70 for a small cut piece of vinyl and anyway dealer parts ordering is all screwed up at the moment.
I was lucky to get a couple sets of the factory gel strips when they were still available,
so I only ordered the GP blackout plate trim.
Shipping for those were quite expensive though,
a £20 flat rate which equates to around $27,
and is one reason why I balked in the past when I first came across this site,
but then recently decided just fuggit and went ahead with an order.
Just put some sill strips in basket to see final price and it looks like a grand total of £80 which is about $110.
I have another hobby which involves vintage British-made stuff and have been getting stuff posted across the pond for quite a while now, my biggest gripe has always been the insane costs involved with despatch fees, the Royal Mail is so very highly priced.
Also get some stuff from Ireland and not only is their AnPost much much cheaper, but it also arrives in my mailbox much much quicker.
Never understood the disparity of cost because they're both in the same part of the world generally.
