Will do!

Also in the Netherlands, you almost never see this wing. I have noticed that it pretty much is a love it or hate it wing, and I absolutely love it! Look at it

Did you buy the car with that JCW wing, or did you add it? It appears to be the R56 version which bolts on, and not the 1st gen wing which has a different base and glues on.

Any pics of the underside of the hatch to see if holes were added for mounting?

I bought it like this. It looks very much like this spoiler > https://new.minimania.com/part/G2NMA...m-Oem-Gen2-R56

Learned something today I can check for the hatch later, I'm currently busy with major service (supercharger service + renewing components under the bonnet)

Yep, you can see from the pics in the link yours seems to be just the JCW wing that was removed from the R56 upper hatch base/panel.

that wing in nd’s car is definitely a 1st R53 JCW wing. The easiest way to tell is that the wing struts on the R56 extend past the wing surface, but the R53 wing’s struts terminate at the wing’s lower surface.

There’s definitely something up with this wing though as there’s nothing between the uprights where the 1st gen gets glued. Maybe a rep, or a damaged wing that was creatively mounted?

I don't have time for inspection now, but I can take off the trim to check how it's mounted in a while (Im focusing on the supercharger service at the moment)

i would guess damaged wing that got modified to remove the center piece. Until recently, I don’t remember anyone making aftermarket versions and certainly not carbon fiber ones.

I guess I better add mine to the list. S17839
2008 R52 with Chrono pack and pretty much all the stuff the LOTSC have except the Sidewalk interior trim and night spoke wheels.
Production date of June 19th. I'll post some pictures when I figure out how to do that and after I wash the car.

The same gentleman had carbon skinned versions as well. It may be worth asking about.

AllMag has a motor on offer from a Last of the Supercharged R52.

https://www.allmagautoparts.com/prod...fc53f100&_ss=r

JCW # S17955

I sent them an inquiry asking for the edition # and hopefully they'll respond.

Only 100 were made and if we knew the edition # for this one it'd narrow down a definitive range, but I think it's safe to say at this point for an approximation that roughly around 18,000 JCW S-kits were made.

R52 2009 registered JCW July 08 build

Well you might can fix that. Mine had the certificate according to the pictures from the dealer but unfortunately the 1st owner lost it... so I contacted MINI in all kind of different ways. In the end they told me they could supply a new certificate matching my car and kit number. BUT... You have to apply for one trough the dealer that fitted the kit or (in case of factory cars) trough the dealer that delivered the car. Next you have to write (by hand) a letter in which you states that de dealer can apply for the certificate at the MINI Classic department in Germany you also have to supply pictures and the chassis number. This will ONLY work if the car was fitted with the kit by a dealership or from factory and if the kit number matches your car. I'm going trough this proces at the moment.
I will post an update if I have any more information about it.

Quick update about the John Cooper Works Certificate, I got a call yesterday MINI will supply a replacement and it is on it's way to my dealership.
Once I have it I'll post another update and let you know the cost of the replacement certificate.

Good info. Thanks. I wouldn’t mind getting the certificate for mine. Would be nice to have and nice for the next owner.

Asking for a friend ..... When looking for a specific example, what should you expect to pay for a sub 80K mile 2006 Hardtop JCW, in all original excellent condition, well serviced, no rust, etc... Does color matter value-wise? Price bump for sunroof delete? I assume all of these R53 JCW's are manual transmission cars?

I purchased a no-sunroof jcw a couple years ago, it did cost me extra it's very hard to find them. I would estimate it cost 2500 more than a similar mile justa-S

When I bought my '06 Checkmate JCW (with sunroof) it was on average €2000 more than a Cooper S with the same milage and options.
But it looks like the JCW's are even more separating (price wise) form the Cooper S's now that JCW parts are becoming more and more rare.
