JCW GarageInterested in John Cooper Works (JCW) parts for your 1st Generation MINI? This is where JCW upgrades and accessories for the Cooper (R50), Cabrio (R52), and Cooper S (R53) MINIs are discussed.
The 200bhp JCW Tuning Kit originally retailed for $4,500 (plus 10 hours labor). The JCW Upgrade (airbox, 380cc injectors plus remap) was originally $525 (plus 1.5 hours labor). The 210bph Tuning Kit was originally $4,775 (plus 11.5 hours labor).
The factory JCW Package (3AL) which also included the JCW Sport Brakes and LSD was $6,300 but it required ordering the $1,400 Sport Package.
It was a good deal - too good to pass up! Was going to buy the entire tuning kit a piece at a time from MINI. Was just about to buy just the exhaust - center silencer, rear silencer, chrome tips and clamp for $876.16 from MINI when checked Ebay and found the kit for sale. I caught the listing right when it was posted and was the only bidder during the 2 weeks the listing was up for auction. Thought for sure would get outbid at that price for a brand new kit but didn't thank goodness. If one was to buy the kit (minus certificate, tuning code, and engine plate) from MINI parts counter today, MINI USA has it currently priced at $5,280.91. But that price also doesn't include the spark plugs or injectors.

I still think it’s pretty cool that Mini offered these engine tuning kits as an option. In fact that’s really what made Mini’s so unique, you could customize them in so many ways which made no two alike.
I got lucky with mine, it’s an 2006 with the JCW factory installed, LSD and Sport Package. It’s an incredibly fun car and a relative bargain.
This what I have gathered so far
this is what i have gathered so far from here, other forums and FB. If im missing anyone let me know. It isnt perfect and its a work in progress, any suggestions would also be welcomed.
I'll get you the other JCW number from my other engine that I got from the wrecking yard last year
I would like to see car color, location, mileage in that chart as well... would like to see car's production dates also if possible......just a suggestion

I agree with A383Wing's suggestions, as that'd be interesting info.
Possibly add if the car was slicktop or sunroof also?
Some configurations are exceedingly rare, like once when I was researching older threads on NAM, I came across an '06 JCW Space Blue slicktop with roof same as body color, can't be too many of those out there!
I haven't been active in this endeavor, but I'll try and start compiling --- any parameters you're sticking to? Like North America only for instance?
I did come across an old registry which was very small but had an interesting footnote claiming that S10247 was the first factory install.
Dunno if that jives though,
doesn't seem correct to me? https://web.archive.org/web/20080723...-registry.org/
It would be great if we did actually know the first factory install, then we could hopefully find #100/100 LotSC and that'd give us the end number ain't it?
Then we'd have a solid number for factory JCW production.
My other JCW engine number is S15505 ........I'll try to find the tag that came with it for what car it came out of and get you that info also.....I do know it was a 2006 R53
EDIT: Here is the info on the JCW car that I got the wrecking yard motor from last year
2006 R53, Production date July 5th, 2006, Dark Silver Metallic, White roof, white mirror caps, white bonnet stripes, NO SUNROOF, Couple interesting options, it did have the HK radio system, also had the front center armrest and rear fog light. The car that this engine came out of has gone to MINI Heaven......they crushed the car right after engine was removed

I have to go back and read through a few threads and add the new additions. Ill try to add color and other details, but it may be hit or miss.
As far as the first FJCW one ill try to track it down.
You may want to add VIN to your list as that will preserve the info need for a factory build sheet. Also, it will show if any JCW kits were salvaged and put on a second MINI.
Just came across this thread. Looks like I might have the last factory (VIN verified) JCW supercharged Mini and I got it for a song. Just kidding although it is pretty late. Serial number S17515, factory build date 3/11/2008. Got any later?
Wish I had all the paperwork that went with it. Anyone know how to get new certificates? Any unusual owners manuals, pamphlets, booklets, warranty stuff, etc?
This is my R53 JCW Cooper S, one of the very few convertibles converted by John Cooper Garages, exceptionally rare in British Racing a Green with a green hood. Spec includes, Aero Kit, R90 BBS Wheels, Recaro Interior, JCW Dash etc

JAYSUS!
That is a super sweet ride right there,
thanks for sharing the pix,
so many nice details,
it's spec'd to the absolute hilt.
That Cooper Garages decal is totally awesome too!
Wish I had one of those,
they are exceedingly rare.

Yes, it is exceptionally well spec’d. Some of the JCW bits are very rare.
It also has the certificate which is still in the wrapper and a Mini “Ministry of Ownership” passport completely unused.
Have you done anymore additions to this JCW list? I saw your post on Facebook....might get a few more VIN's from there if they are willing to contribute
