JCW GarageInterested in John Cooper Works (JCW) parts for your 1st Generation MINI? This is where JCW upgrades and accessories for the Cooper (R50), Cabrio (R52), and Cooper S (R53) MINIs are discussed.
May try Schmiedmann at some point, was surprised that freight charge seemed reasonable,
went ahead and did a dry run checkout on the link you provided and the quote was $64.
Have read positive review of them on BMW forums (also sprinkled with bad reportage as well tho) and they used to advertise in Performance MINI print magazine.
Would be a good source for euro-only stuff too I'd reckon, or even stuff that was available over here but now hard-to-find-or-actually-get like the recent experience I've had attempting to find a small simple dummy plate...
:
One dealer has already cancelled my order with no real explanation,
but then updated their site to say under this part number "backorder"
so it must be on the way out or gone altogether,
may be more common in Europe with a few sitting on the shelf somewhere?
Ran that part # thru S-mann just now to see
and they don't have it in stock either...
Hello,
Based off what we can see, many in Germany, no block as of now
Well,
looks like someone bought that GP i/c today, it was still available when I posted the link.
Likely someone took the offer which was probably sent to all the watchers.
Best current price for a new one is from bmwpartsworldwide but as far as I know they are no longer a MINI dealer and they cancelled my last order which was several months back, does anyone know if they are still actually dealing in MINI parts?
If they ain't then I wish they'd remove that portion of their site because it is like an unlawful taunting and gives me slight trauma because their pricing is parallel to my old beloved local dealer MINI of Kennesaw and man do I miss them!
I think someone messed up somewhere on that database...which happens, but it says my kit # is in Europe...its def in the states on my car and that it's a 210 not 200. I assume it got fat fingered
I develop the list purely off where i have seen the cars with the ability to tie it to the vin, and rely on people registering their kits, so i think you may be right and someone has made a whoopsie, if you flick me a PM or submit a registration ill make sure it gets corrected, and ill contact the person who entered it wrong, although normally i request pictures before the car will get registered on the list, so wondering if someone has slipped one by me-
Doubt the amber 2005+ will go on blowout. The 2002-2004 taillights are starring to go nla and they ever dropped the price :( Clears went nla and never dropped, we got the last set from MINI in the world. I have the last R52 body kit and the JCW sill, i got the last set. Also i have the last set of Leather Gen 1 red stitched down tubes that were for the GP1 at one point.
What door panel, they are not one piece? "amber euro taillight kit with rear fog" Those are the ones i have on my R52 I got the last set in the world also. Bunch of them sold out in a week or so.
This what I have gathered so far
this is what i have gathered so far from here, other forums and FB. If im missing anyone let me know. It isnt perfect and its a work in progress, any suggestions would also be welcomed.

I just became a member today fun group!
got a 04JCW in 10/22 now with 137k miles
has been so fun daily driving… but have had to do some minor and major items to it and now have loud rattles always (bad SC/WP?) appreciate any help, tips, parts. Did take the old white stripes off and like better. Was happy to see good paint was good looking afterwards. Kept one on back for now. In the SF North Bay.
thanks!
Nice color coded aero kit on there. I see new wheels in your future, if those are 18”, you’ll appreciate 17s better ride, and they look better on the car. Loud rattles could be lots of things, but cheapest and most common first, chain tensioner, it’s DIY. And definitely subscribe to this channel
Been a while since I've looked at used car listings, but this morning had the compulsion and came across this which just might be the most expensive JCW that I've seen due to the heavy option list.
In my opinion, if it was a lifetime Arizona car then the asking price might be worth it, but the car spent most its life in NJ so there's inevitably some rustiness yet pretty clean considering.
The rather odd thing is that it was bought as an S and then had the JCW conversion via dealer which seems would be unusual in 2006.
The dealer install list has almost all of the JCW accessory boxes checked:
Spec upon port arrival:
All done,
the final price including accessories + installation of accessories + sales tax = $52,337.78
^^^ Agreed, high asking for mileage and Carfax location history, despite currently being advertised in AZ (just a few miles from where my R53 sat in dry storage until mid-2021). But as we've seen routinely on BaT listings of all types, many aren't meeting seller reserve and thus not sold. Gallery pics on this one do show "minor" undercarriage corrosion and evidence of leakage stains too. Perhaps relatively normal for age and mileage but a significant factor in fair market value nonetheless. This one as-built in Oxford was a nicely optioned S-spec with the only performance related option being LSD and then the very spendy (desirable and rare now) dealer add-on stuff subsequently. OTOH, $22k doesn't buy nearly as much in 2023. Unlikely we'll ever know what this actually sells for...
Here is probably the most updated list of first generation JCW cars throughout the world.....I added mine to the registry a week or so ago, but it's not been added yet
Well, it's a bit of an old thread
but we just purchased 06 R53 MCS JCW S11668 for my son (17 years old). He had a 2013 MCS but wanted a manual. This one seems all original. For a car not owned by an enthusiast, it seems well cared for with 101k miles. We don't have it home yet. We pick it up monday evening. The passenger side front bumper has a little damage to the mounting holes and the front fender flare trim piece is missing and I'm sure it needs a full service/fluids but otherwise it's tight. I'll bring it home tomorrow and drop it at the dealer. We'll see where we go from there.
i very much enjoy trying to collect all the contemporary magazines with R53 JCW content
even the non-English editions!
but,
obtaining all the international variants is much much too expensive of an endeavor for me to seriously undertake, so i just settle for whatever scant affordable copies might ever pop up
so me as an OCD nutter with tendencies for being a completist, it is quite frustrating LoL
dunno if i will ever get any of the Italian versions because their postal rates are truly insane
PICCOLA BELVA !
(((( little beast ! ))))
the French are more reasonable
as to mailing magazines more cheaply
Germany has many to look for & find
they are also more reasonable than the Italian mail service
yeah,
i still look for international English language stuff too,
but usually over-priced so just notate title & keep it in my every-now-and-then percolating searches & will buy if bargain
group tests are always good reading
especially when compared against hallowed French hot hatches
and,
of course i'm interested in special interest boyracer stuff too which may not be from contemporary period,
like this Italian mag which features that awesome GPGarage time attack car . . .
Here's my JCW I just saved from rotting in a friend's tow lot. It'd been abandoned by the owner over a shop bill for 3+ years. Not running.
S12619, 2006 JCW, 116k miles, pretty nice shape overall and best of all....100% stock car.
Got it running (bad EWS module) and drives great! Working on making a list of things to refresh on it starting with new tires, brakes, fluids, filters, etc.
