Question JCW front brake pads

Has anyone found a reputable company that sells aftermarket front pads?

I'm not really a fan of how dusty the OEM's are especially at $200 for replacements.

I just tripped the front pad sensors, so it's time :(

Brake pads are covered FOC for the first 3 years I believe. As dusty/soft as they are, free beats money every time.

Warranty is 3 yrs/50k. Whichever comes first. I'm at 54k :( Dealer basically said go F yourself or buy our overpriced pads.

$200 and change through ECS, plus $40 for new sensors.

Finally, there is 100$ option for the brake pads - Ferodo FCP 4872
Or ANY oem bmw or aftermarket pads for f30 with M performance brakes, but in that case you have to grind down 3mm of extra thickness to make them fit.( oem jcw pads are 15mm thick and bmw pads are 18mm) Pretty easy though (see the picture below) I'm using them for 1000 km. already and very happy. Enjoy!

I've heard here in IT that Ferodo racing has recently developed new brake pads in 15mm thick for JCW F56 calipers but they are not sill present in the catalog. Probably they will soon available.

Could you pm me a few pics of your wheels mounted on the car (specifically a booty shot, and looking down the side of the car)? I'm on TS9's and have been wondering what the car looks like with 12.5mm spacers. Just in the rear?

Ferodo offers racing pads, costs €128 , you can also use BMW Pads and grind them down ;-)

month old thread, but just a heads up i have the BBK on my F56, so the same as you JCW folk...i was running Carbotech pads for a year and moved over to G-Loc for 2017. While i was running their track pad (R10), i've just ordered their street pad (GS-1) for Daily Driving..not sure how it prices out compared to OEM pads but i with my tracking my car, i wanted to be sure my race pad and daily pad share the same compound for quick swaps.

Marco why did you switch from the carbotech? I used to race with them and street them and liked them a lot. I was hoping to swap to them when the time comes (gen 1 here).

so as i understand it, carbotech was owned by 4 Members of the Puskar family with the help of investors. 2 of the brothers did not like the new path CT was taking so they left and either joined or formed G-Loc brakes. from discussion, i understand that from a compound perspective, both CT and G-Loc are LITERALLY the same thing, so material is the same thing. the differences are 2.
- g-loc is claiming to use better QA/QC in their pad process
- they're undercutting CT prices by $20/$30.

i'm a PCA member so with the slightly lower price plus my PCA discount, it comes out pretty cheap.

i've been working with G-Loc all year long. i had an issue where my rear pads did not fit on my Carbotechs. sure enough, i get my G-Loc pads and the exact same issue. the ears just didn't fit (i guess this proves they use the same manufacturer). i reached out to them and they very quickly confirmed the fitment issue and worked on a new template. while that took awhile, they ended up getting me an OEM set for the rear, removed the OEM compound, put their compound, and shipped that to me since i was heading to the track and needed the pads ASAP. since then, i've ordered their GS-1 set which i assume will be on a new laser cut base (corrected).

edit: longer version from G-Loc's Page: http://www.g-locbrakes.com/about-us/
