R56 JCW aka Project Pheonix

So it seems like my daily has turned into a project...
i bought my '09 JCW July 2016 and had every problem from the clutch to timing chain and everything short of HPFP replaced down to the turbo.
Along the way I've stumbled on 297hp 322tq after my hybrid turbo kit, catless DP and air filter, but now I hit peak boost closer to 4K rpm but she pulls straight to redline without a flinch!
Now am in need of the next steps to make this power more drivable. The plan is finish the exhaust from dp back and drop a bigger intercooler in, but I'm back and forth on who to use for the tune. So far according to my data log I'm peaking boost in the high 18s and really wouldn't want anything more than 20.
The goal of the car is to make it a fun sleeper/track car until I pick up a cheap daily.
Any suggestions for the build as a whole?

I would not put much stock in the power/torque numbers from Dashcommand. I got similar numbers from a bone stock Cooper S.

I figured it'd be a bit inflated, but the 50mm compressor side wheel is rated for 350-400hp and the way it pulls to redline I know there's some good power there.
I'll wait until I get tuned to get a dyno test done

What turbo do you have? It would be great to see a real dyno run.

Manic tune is one of the most popular, with your mods you are in Stage 2 territory if not Stage 3 with the hybrid turbo. Hit up MarioKart on the forum for pricing and details. If you're not local in SoCal he can have same day turnaround when you send him your ECU for tuning.

I'd recommend installing a methanol injection kit, especially if you're still on stock internals.

I picked up a custom hybrid kit from Turbo Labs of America based in VA. He has a 50mm mini kit for $269, came with a billet wheel, custom fit compressor plate and cold side housing. After my original blew I picked up a new cartridge and the kit and went for it, for less than $500 I can't complain.

I keep hearing manic and talked to Mario a bit, I'm still curious about other options. I read somewhere that battle tuning didn't play with the PSI too much and got great results, anyone not tuning with manic?
Basically im just trying to be as counter culture as possible and reak havoc lol
But really, what options do we have?

LMFAO on my n54 135i just tuned before going FBO It told me I was in the 700+ WHP bracket. Even after I added a ton of info to the PID screen... Then when I had it tuned after FBO I saw 1300+ after one pull... totally legit $2k in mods can buy a lot now days!!!

NO! its complete BS the HP and torque that dashcommand reads out...

Lol i was just talking about the inaccuracy of the dashcommand "hp" and "torque" figures ;-) they totaled my 135i :-( so need another fun car to fill the void. Considering the n18 JCW coupe.

Eh the evo x had the weakest internals of any engine I personally ever started building... that isnt a blow and go car IMO... the n54 still holds top marks for going well past 2x original power on stock internals. One of the few in a VERY short list to be properly built from factory!

Sound like I'll have to get it dynoed! I'm picking up my intercooler and JZW tune this weekend to complete my stage 3 work. I'm excited to see some more power, I'll post my dyno once I find a shop around here that has one.
Ive read the JCW had forged pistons can anyone confirm that?
