So...what's the real definition of "JCW Mini"?
Been wondering this for a while. I recently sold my 2003 Cooper and bought a 2013 Coupe that has the JCW interior package (seats, e-brake boot, shift boot, etc) and JCW exterior package (front and rear facia, side skirts). But it does not have the JCW engine tuning kit piece.
So is it proper to call my car a "JCW Mini"? Or do we only call cars with the tuning kit a "JCW Mini"?
Personally, I don't feel quite right calling my car a "JCW Mini". Kinda seems like posing.
What's the general consensus?

I got the JCW Interior package on my 2016 MCSa because I wanted cloth seats, classier pedals, and black headliner. Without the more powerful engine and sport suspension, I feel a tinge of phoniness every time I enter the car over that "JCW" threshold

What you're referring to is what's commonly known as "factory JCW" or fJCW. That consists of 3 things: the body kit (which is an option on the Cooper and MCS), the Brembo brakes (not a factory option), and the bigger turbocharger (not a factory option) with the tune on it (the JCW tuning kit which dealers can install before you take it home). You can buy the brake kit later and have it installed or do it yourself, and some people have swapped out the turbocharger to the bigger one (not many). But the fJCW car is only about $6k more than the MCS, whereas doing it piecemeal is more expensive obviously.

But if you want to add a JCW badge I probably won't judge ;-)

I have the same issue, my 2011 has all the JCW bits that could be installed on the exterior and interior of the car except for the engine, exhaust, and brakes. I don't consider it a JCW, but I won't be removing anything from the car, including badging. I'll let others be the judge if it's a JCW or not

I have a 2013 JCW. It came as a "bare bones" JCW, but the VIN is reflective of it being a factory JCW.
I replaced the crappy stock seats with JCW Seats, (bought from a salvage yard.) I also added the Carbon JCW eBrake handle, Carbon JCW Shift handle, and door trim. The eBrake boot was changed to match the red stitched JCW Shift boot. Changed the wheels to R-112's with the JCW center caps. I also added hand stitched, leather, rooster red, arm rest covers.
In the end, even though I bought a "Factory JCW", it wasn't "JCW enough" for me, or rather for my wife. It's her car.

Oh and then you replace the JCW tune with a Manic 2+ tune (added FMIC and catless DP but kept the JCW exhaust), added GP2 aero underbody pieces, JCW rims replaced with NM Engineering rims, JCW suspension replaced with Fortune Auto 500 coilovers, and JCW brakes replaced with GP2 6 piston brakes? Definitely not a factory JCW and I am a little embarrassed to even think of it as a JCW anymore...

I believe that there is only one JCW........ the one that come from the factory.

2009+ Factory JCW, before that it was much more rare. 2002-2005 add on dealership, ~2005+ it was a factory add on.

Not a JCW.
Kind of how I feel, but it leaves me without a nice short way to describe my "Coupe with JCW interior and exterior but not the tuning kit or brakes".
Adding a badge wouldn't feel right for the same reason and like oldsbear mentioned above, whenever I see the JCW doorsills or the JCW emblem on the steering wheel, I think "well yeah, but not really".
