I picked up two JCW door sill strips to replace the existing Cooper S strips.

Mini part number 51710305557.

They were $25.49 each from TheMiniPartStore.com

I removed the exiting sill plates with a heat gun and cleaned everything up. There is a trick that helps make a real finished look. Sand down the 4 little caps in the sill before installing. Otherwise you will have 4 small bubbles in the sill. I did not figure that out on the passenger side, but the drivers side is sorted. Thankfully I do not open the passenger door very often to remind me!

The new sills enhance the JCW look.

When I put mine on you have to make sure the sill is very clean and the old foam tape is removed.





They really look good.

 

Weren't these designed to go over the top of the stock S metal plates ?

Why if you don't the clips underneith leave the lumps in these mylar covers....

Yep they are nla, You can use the newer logo ones here. Thats really the only replacement unless you find new old stock.
