JCW NM Module in a JCW
I have a 2016 JCW manual. I installed the NM Power Module and set it right to High (I live above 5000 ft so not worried about lower octane). I notice a real awakening in the mid range and more shifting wheel spin from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. I'm not sure I'm getting the full 5lb boost at top end though. I'll look at getting a boost gauge at some point. But just daily driving it is well worth it. Also noticed I gained about 2mpg when not stomping on the pedal.
I have not run it on high yet, but the low setting is pretty impressive and I am happy enough with it. If I decide to spring for some higher octane fuel I will switch it then. With the exhaust and the module it is different beast altogether, not only with the horsepower gain, but the torque and the torque curve are significantly improved as well. I also like the appearance of the box, but probably won't spring for it and direct the toy cash towards new, better performing tires.
Tires can be the big key to any car, I remember road and track at VIR shaved either 5 or 10 seconds off the Mustangs lap times by dumping the stock tires and going with Michelin Super Sports! I loved those tires on my R56, but I'm thinking of trying their new all season tire Pilot Sport A/S 3+. Maybe switch the setting on high at Road Atlanta during Mini Takes the States!
I had the A/S 3's on my R56 and they were OK and worked great on it. I also put them on the C7, but they are way to slippery on the rears for it it and they break free instantly. They did OK on the R as it did not develop the power and torque of the corvette. However, I am concerned they will also prove less than great on the F as it has a lot more power and torque and weighs more than the R. The A/S 3's are great tires, but after reading about the super sports I really want them. I just have issues with the cost. I may just say in for a penny in for a pound and go ahead and get them. I just feel like I am being ripped off and I don't know if they are worth the increased performance. Since they are being discontinued for whatever reason I am also wondering what will replace them.

I will will give the power mod installation a shot this week, but like I said I am awful with this kind of stuff.
Next step is a Blinder laser jammer, which I have already spoken with a shop in the Seattle area and they've done many installations on high end cars. I am going with 3 sensors, 2 next to the sides where the FMIC sits, and one in the middle BEHIND the upper grill. The installation guy is telling me he can do the middle sensor without having to cut into the grill. I have gotten this beast over 150mph many...MANY times. I have a 2 mile stretch of highway by my house that is 2 lanes, and slightly uphill, but you can see if there's anyone up there ready to basically take me to jail, cause at that speed that's what they will do.

The A/S 3s are a great tire, but I really believe for high speed technical tracking softer, stickier tires such as the super sports are a considerably better choice. The module installation really is plug and play. If you are worried about it print the installation instructions and lay them next to you when you are performing the installation. It really is quite simple and almost impossible to muck it up. Unplug the existing male to female connection and put the module connection in between the factory plug in and safety tie the cables and viola, it's done. You will realize 30 HP + or -. It takes about an hour of driving for everything to adapt. You will feel the difference in the butt dyno when it is working.
On that last post I made I forgot the one thing.....and the last thing that I really, really want for my wheel/tire setup. I want a set of 4 Stoptech rotors to go along with the before mentioned setup I have right now. Now these would be for aesthetic purposes only! I think they look incredible. I'm referring to their slotted AND dimpled rotors. I am well aware of the "arguments" that can be made about slotted vs dimpled, or slotted AND dimpled vs slotted alone, or everything I mentioned vs OEM....I've read many threads on my e90 site......and I don't really care. I don't really care if stopping power is increased. I just simple love the way they look! And paired with my black RSe12's? Come on...it would look incredible! Sorry to go off topic, this is a NM power mod thread. Not a "mike's wheel and tire setup look really cool" thread!

OK, ran my JCW with the module on high all day up through the Blue Ridge Parkway, no issues happily during spirited driving. Have been flooring it and have had no issues, pulls all the way to redline happily! Will have to dyno it again when I get time and see what the difference it is compared to my last dyno on low setting.

You can still find "94" octane at some Sunoco stations...at least I remember seeing this in the not too distant past.
Oh, how I long for the good ole days when Sunoco 260 was the hot ticket fuel (octane was something like "102"!) My Chevelle with 450hp loved that stuff, especially with the slicks on the rear!

Haven't seen a Sunoco station in a while around here in NC! One opened and closed in a matter of months near me a few years ago, the rest of the time I just see them in PA when I go back up to Philly, or at VIR. When the Sunoco was open near me in NC, they did offer 100+ octane for around $6 gallon. I think the Sunoco at VIR is $8ish per gallon I think. I remember back in the 80's Sunoco offered 100ish high octane near me in Valley Forge and it was around $4 gallon and I thought that was insane!
Glad to hear it has worked out on High! I've been meaning to switch the settings to see how it does on high on my JCW as well. I'm at elevation of around 800ft, so will see if daily driving is effected on 93 octane. Read here on forums that the Cooper S with JCW tune and switch on high the car acts not so great so was unsure of switching settings since the stock JCW runs a slightly higher boost, but also at a lower compression ratio.
I put mine on low to see the difference. That lasted and hour and switched it back to high.

I'm surprised I haven't seen your JCW out and about in town. I think we're the only two pepper white JCW's in the area. (Do you go to any of the events around here?)
What brand and octane rating fuel do you regularly use? And, please post the dynamometer reading difference when you have it done.
I mainly do the VIR events and head to Flow in Winston if they have something going on. The kicker is I work Thursday thru Sun so I'm limited on meetings. I think I saw your mini in Kernersville a little while ago though, thought to myself I'm no longer exclusive, lol
In Denver we only go to 91 and I'm sold on Shell V-Power. I've been driving it a lot harder as the weather is warming up with no issues. When I take it to the track this summer I'll definitely be putting in 100+ depending what's available.
Shell premium here is generally 93 octane, possibly to compete better with BP and Valero who offer 93. Are you going to have the dynamometer test with 100 octane at the high setting or Shell 91?
i've just ordered from ECS NM-Module for my F56 JCW, i have Euro version and here in Czech republic have 95 and 100octane,...i use only 100oct. hope in no issue!
Owners with NM module do you feel any lags or big "turbo effect" after installation? I hope in stronger gradual power increase...and save the linear behavior of JCW.
THX! Martin
