Hopefully you get your order number soon too!

Here's a screen-cap of MINIUSA's OL. WOW they haven't changed it at all in the past 13 years, yikes, getting their web-design money's worth. More importantly, all my options are correct, which I don't recall ever happening this early in the process.

So, it may be the cockpit chrono package that bumped me out of the queue. My MA seems perplexed and unable to provide an answer as to what is going on. I can live (and drive) without them!

Fascinating. Is it supposed to be a factory, port, or dealer installed item? I don't think there's any mention of it on MINIUSA, though it shows up on RealOEM under the Instruments section, with part numbers for both left and right hand drive models.

Don't mean to be a downer on all the excitement (I've ordered one too!) but has anyone seen this review? I find the Australian car mags to be pretty honest. Hopefully they just tested a car with poor linkages....

http://www.wheelsmag.com.au/reviews/...-s-jcw-review/

"A low point is the six-speed manual shift, it's lack of directness making mis-shifts and aimless hunting a regular occurrence. However, the auto's wheel-mounted paddles answer quickly and in manual mode won't change up on you. It’s also faster and more frugal (5.7L/100km being a full litre better than the self-shifter),"

They delayed the release of the 6SMT because they "wanted to get it right" lets hope that is so with our new vehicles!!

realoem.com indicates the same part number for the linkage assembly for the Cooper S and JCW cars. Wonder how much their test car was abused before they got it?

I presume that's rhetorical?

Having driven a couple F56 manual's now, the shift linkage is fine.

My gearbox (MCS) was replace at 3k miles. I thought they had fixed that problem. Troubling for me that this issue is showing up in a new (1 year later) car!

This sounds like it should be its own thread. Either your dealer didn't fix the root cause, you're unlucky, or you're instigating damage. I'm sorry it's happened, however either you, MINI, or the dealership needs to make corrective action.

A friend of mine went through 6, yes six, transmissions in a previous [not MINI] new car he bought. It was entirely his fault for all 6. Just sayin'.

This is a whole thread. Point is yogis should not be happening 1 year later. Are they still installing faulty transmissions?

I'm wondering if they got a pre-production version of the JCW with the manual tranny. I don't see how else they were able to test the manual...

Also I wonder if it had the jcw gearbox. The ratios are taller....and they only just started making them.

Has anyone who has ordered the manual transmission heard a definitive date (other than "probably sometime in June") as to when these will actually start production? I'm growing impatient...

I just put money down and was "lucky" to get a June build spot. I was thinking of pushing to 2016 if that had not happened. I bet it will be later in June - I'm guessing 3rd week! I don't have a VIN # yet.

I ordered my car on March 5th and don't have a date, nor a clear explanation as to the delay. I think they pooched it.

What MINI has told dealers is that the manual will go into production in July, with a minute number making it into June production and that they will be designated as 2016 models.

Source? As you can see by my MINIUSA OL screen-cap, mine is currently listed at a MY2015.

Sirius. You are the man...but why am I told August for 2016's. My MA was adamant about it. I really hope he is wrong...but he says they change the pricing and options on the 2016 cars....

A buddy that works at a MINI dealership. He told me that when a time frame for the manuals was communicated. Take that as you will, but they haven't steered me wrong yet.. Until it hits the factory floor, that info can change...

Not sure, especially when MY typically changes in July for MINI. From what little I've heard though, the base prices aren't changing, but some of the packages are moving around (as they tend to do).

Guess we'll find out soon.

I really really hope you are right.....It would seem stupid that they make 2 months off 2015 standards only....

Woo hoo, I have a production number! My MA found an open June build slot from another dealer and got it for my car. Best news this week and excellent work by my MA!

My understanding is that June built cars are model year 2015.

So I found out that almost all the dealers who ordered a JCW haven't been able to sell them.. Of course it's prolly because they are auto and I get that. The intresteting thing is that all these JCWs are just setting there at the dealers since Apirl. If anyone wanted a good chance to have a deeper discount then most.. Now would be the time if u wanted a auto.
