JCW F56 JCW 6MT: order placed
No problem. I'm sitting here at a 24 hour staff duty shift.....staring at my car from outside the door from my duty desk :P

I just re-checked my VIN and did some research. Looks like the configurator has an error in this regard. The auto dimming mirrors (option 430) is showing on my VIN but I did not order it specifically, but I did get the cold weather package. I confirmed that option 430 includes both interior and exterior auto dimming (anti dazzle per the VIN decoder) mirrors. The inclusion of the $500 option appears to be a mistake and should not be selectable unless you do not select the package, but included when the Cold Weather package is selected.
Where in Germany are you? I am stationed in Germany as well, in Kaiserslautern. I'm hoping to take delivery of my JCW this week (fingers crossed).
I'm over here in the Katterbach/Illesheim area.
Most definitely! I leave for SLC this week....I'll be back around the last week of September. Shoot me a PM with your contact info
The dealership literally just peeled the shipping film off the paint, so it's dirty and the suspension blocks are still in. Otherwise the car looks perfectly fine. Surfacing looks good, paint looks good, panel fitment looks good. It heads into PDI this afternoon.

I'll take delivery tomorrow afternoon. Turns out insurance is cheaper than the Abarth, despite costing 50% more.

Thanks! I feel for you since yours has been stuck at your dealership.
Ryephile. Can you put down some thoughts on the gearbox once you have driven it? Really no one has done this. Just general impressions. Ratios, specifically 1st and second. I know 1st is different than the MCS. How the shift handle feels and the amount of travel. Kind of thing...... Thanks.
Absolutely. This is great timing too because I just spent the past week with an R53 and an R56 MCS I borrowed from MichiganMINI friends to bring up to the MINI's on the Mack, so I'll have a fresh perspective compared to the 2 prior gen chassis's.
In the parking lot with the engine off, the shifter action is light but very precise, really similar to the absolutely brilliant shifter in the new Mustang EcoBoost. I'll go into more detail after I actually drive it. I've driven pretty much everything from Miata's to Viper's, so I feel my breadth of 3-pedal experience is more than many.

Congrats and RATS. Our cars came over together on the Tysla. Per Ask Mini this morning mine is waiting for transportation. Too bad we didn't have our cars in time for the Mack. I only saw 1 Gen 3 JCW.
What were you driving for MINI's on the Mack? I borrowed a friend's R53, which was lots of fun and a personal trip down memory lane. I can mirror your observation of only seeing a single F56 JCW [automatic], though there were lots of F56 Cooper and S's.

I was driving our 2010 R56 S. I sold the car prior to the Mack contingent on keeping it until we returned home from MI. Promptly cleaned it up and completed the sale. Now I am without a MINI in the garage for the first time since Aug 2002.
It's one of the very few 2015 manual trans. Somebody said only 19 were built and I'd like to verify that somehow. Considering they were only officially built for around 4 weeks, and all the ships I looked at showed only about 1 per ship, it seems a plausible number.
I have signed the paperwork and taken delivery!
