M7 Heat Shield on 2011+ Turbos

Has anyone installed the M7 Heat Shield on any of the turbo-charged Minis, 2011+ S models, (specifically the 2013 JCW Coupe)?

M7 Heat Shield

Thanks for your feedback and picture. Have a question for you now. What kind of air intake did you put on your JCW and did it make a noticeable difference in performance? Different sound? My JCW Coupe is only a couple months old but I changed to an Alta air intake on my 2007 and I'm considering changing it on this new one as well. Just wondering what you're using.

There were very few CAI for the N18 engine at the time so I went with http://www.minidynamics.com/NM-Hi-Fl...-nm.658857.htm The stock turbo intake tube is a big improvement on the 2011 and before models which is why I went with this one + it was almost half the price (you can always pick up the intake tube later on). to be honest I bought mine for the looks, I think the coup has a great sound already didnt notice any change there, I bought the RACECHIP (same web site) installed them both at the same time, I would be surprised if the CAI gives any significant horse power, but the race chip is awesome. hope this helps.

Thanks for your response! Much appreciated! Are you going to any of the upcoming Mini Rallyes (Mackinaw? Colorado?)? I would like to see your car.

Colorado's a little to far, I live on the east coast although it would be a great drive.

I installed the NM Engineering Turbo Heat Shield on my 2013 S. The hardest part about the install was waiting for the turbo to cool enough that I could work in the area without burning my fingers.

Way Motor Works alludes to some fitment issues with the M7 Heat Shield on his website, and some people have scoffed at the "space age" aerogel material...which apparently means a $50 upcharge when compared to the NM heat shield.

I can tell you I sell both of them and I chose to put the NM Titanium on my 2013 GP.

My favorite looks wise is the VIP customs 2011+ heat shield. It's $200 and it looks great under the hood.
