Hi Boys at ECS Tuning. I just ordered the 2 underbody panels from you. Is it possible for you to supply the fasteners I need? Can that be added to my order? Thanks for the help!

Yes I got my order in as well. I figure not only is it good for aero, but also for keeping salt and sand out in the winter.

I have seen them in person on the pre-production MINI JCW GP II .

And for newer R56 LCI JCW MINIs it is on:
JCW Aerodynamics kit

Unless there has been some changes. Anyone who has a 2013 JCW without the JCW Aero bodykit could confirm this.

I know in the US the 2013 JCW hardtop comes with the aero kit. I would like to know if the underbody panels are included.

My 2013 MCS hardtop with the JCW exterior package did come from the factory with these under body panels.

Do these run almost the length of the cabin(underneath) or are they only about 500mm long?

I have the 2010 JCW WC 50 and it came with the JCW aerokit. The underbody aero panels were not on my car. Should these panels be there on a stock 2010 JCW from the factory?

I need to order it as well along with the long underbody panels.

One of the many future projects on the list...

Put up some pics when you get the belly pan installed.

I can tell you using the underbody panels for the R58 might be some work. First the rear section on the panels connects to the rear chassis center brace which is blocked by the additional supports which are on the R57 convertible and R52. Also near the center mid pipe square support would need some trimming.

Back by #5 and in the center by the inside cutout. Looks like there is enough room to slide under the brace to fit but it still might need removed and then re-installed , at least the outer arms.

Other then that it might work. Sounds like a DIY in the future Bluetoy. You do have the screw studs hanging down so it will receive the panel.

Thanks
Can you help me out here? I'm about to instal the panels, and as I'm looking at the hardware, I notice that the brackets (# 51752753165 and # 51752753165) are not the same... not just mirror images of each other, but very different shapes. I've attached a photo.

Is this how they are supposed to be?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Alan

Alan,

That's what my pics looks like, one bent more then the other.

I try to here, I know Bluetoy was attempting this on the R59 when I gave him the hardware above from the R56 platform to see if it would match up. Think he got it done, but I could not find the thread.

51752753165 is the left hand side , so facing towards the front of your MINI from the rear ( on the outside corner left hand side ) , this attaches to the back of the panel. Screw portion to the bottom on the panel. tab with holes forward.

51752753166 ( which is the right ) so facing towards the front of your MINI from the rear ( on the outside corner right hand side) , this attaches to the back of the panel. Screw portion to the bottom on the panel. tab with holes forward, wit the bend forward.

Thanks and hope that helps.

Thanks so much ECS! Yes, these are exactly the brackets I have. I'm attaching photos taken from the perspective you present to help others who pursue this mod. Also, thanks for providing the orientation description with these brackets.

I really appreciate your help.

Oh, just one more question. I purchased my panels from my dealer and they supplied 18 plastic nuts (# 51161943122) instead of the 20 that you supply. Are 18 or 20 required with an R59 installation?

By the way, loving my JCW Leather / Carbon shift **** supplied by ECS.

Cheers,
~Alan

Alan,

You are welcome

Calls for ( 20 ) of 51161943122 according to the R58 diagram and above. I would get a couple more, better to have them then be short a couple plastic nuts.
