JCW - is it a good buy?

Interesting that the JCW has the most conservative performance improvement. I'm assuming they deliberately dutuned it in the ECU because it also uses the "15% pulley" (afaik). Guess they have to worry about the warranty...
I wish your graph also included the stock S, just for comparison.

I have just gotten my 03 BGR/W MCS updated with a JCWorks kit. As a California driver the rules are a lot stricter than other states. I have heard about the CHP, or local police writing tickets for 'modified'. It's a #300.00 or more fist time fixit ticket. As far as smog control is concerned, any modification must be CARB certified. If not, automatic fail. I am not sure of the amount of time they (California Air Resources Board) give you to fix it and if you don't they impound the car. DMV will not register your car either. I have had more than my fair share of problems over the years with motorcycles, cars and employment issues (I used to drive heavy equiptment) that I thought it was in my best interest to be able to snicker when stoped, and say that I am 'stock'. For me, that was the defineing issue. I also waited a year to get the money but thats another story. Hope this helps to 'unmuddle' the issue.
