'06 JCW-Good Deal?

Hey Crew,

I'm looking at adding a JCW to my garage and am calling upon the Mini expertese here to see if it's a good deal.

The car is a 2006 Cooper S Factory JCW with 22,500 miles. It has almost every option offered, including Harmon Kardon, Chrono, Cold Weather, Convenience...and I believe that's it. It has a few other add-ons, such as a roof rack and bonnet stripes. Dealer's asking $20,900. I'm trying to get them down to $21,000 OTD. Is this a good deal or should I be pushing for better? I've been researching but I thought I'd bring it here. Thanks in advance!

Oh, and I posted this up elsewhere on the boards with lots of views but no answers. I was hoping for some advice tonight so I can purchase with confidence tomorrow. Thanks!

I would say $21k OTD would be a good deal depending on the condition of the car.

^Thank you. The car is in pristine condition. It's hard, because I keep getting very different thoughts on this deal. I don't know what to do now. I'm going to keep searching for answers. I do appreciate your thoughts...keep em coming!

Oh, and nice gixxer!

For reference I bought my 06 JCW from a Toyota Dealer that had it on their used car lot January of 2009.

18-22k miles on it (I can't remember exactly which it was at the moment) Space Blue Metallic, JCW, Factory LSD, Premium Package, Sports Package, Cold Weather Package, Convenience Package. Balance of the factory warranty (you might be out of this with this car unless it was produced after April).

Sticker on it was $19,995. I talked them down to $18,750 before talking trade in.

For reference, I bought my 06 JCW cab not quite a year ago for 24,500. It had roughly 12,500 on it. Full factory JCW including engine, exhaust, strut bar, 18" wheels, BBK, suspension, aero, all carbon options, factory LSD, Premium Package, Sports Package, Cold Weather Package, Convenience Package. Balance of the factory warranty.

For comparison, I bought my 2005 JCW in prestine condition with 45,000 miles for only $10,000
Seriously!

I just need to change that stupid run flat hard tires.

I got rid of my run-flats and installed a set of Hankook Ventus Evo V12's in the 215/40-18 size on my JCW rims. Fantastic tires! Predictable, sticky, great wet weather performance even though they're summer tires, quiet, etc. I highly recommend them.

And no rubbing either. (Though I did have to take my 15mm spacers off.)

Here in California 2006 JCW's with 25,000 miles, give or take a few, are listing for 18,00 to 22,000 dollars.

2006 JCW GP's with 25,000 miles, give or take a few, are listing for 22,000 to 26,000 dollars.

$21,000 OTD would be nice of course but if you really think the car is a good find don't sweat the small change
especially if you plan on keeping it for a few years.

Hope this helps...

We bought our 06JCW 3 months ago.. sounds simular to this one. ( kind wierd, this is the 4th one in the past couple months with almost the same options and low milage I seen people post about.) We paid about 22 for it.. but it only had just turned 9000 miles. All opts except nav,and backup sensors.
