Automatic JCW Shifter?

I stumbled across this screen on realoem while I was researching a wooden shift **** replacment for my auto JCW: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...62&hg=25&fg=95

Is there really an automatic JCW shifter? It says it's in Alcantara but not sure if there is any jcw logo on it. Does anyone have any pics or knowledge of this? I never knew it existed. I may have to order both and then chose the one I want.

hmmmm, weird. there is no automatic JCW, yet anyway, altho that nasty rumor mill has it that MINI may offer a high performance dry-clutch 7-speed auto as an option with the next gen factory car, either a Getrag or Aisin.

But that real OEM drawing has the same shifter that's in my 09 MCsa.

It doesn't have to be available on a factory JCW to be a JCW accessory part. If that shifter is available, someone around here has it and will pipe up.

that **** on my MCSa was a nice surprise-- first of the 09s autos that had the english oak interior and steering wheels got wood *****. didnt expect it at delivery. Love it.

But why it's listed as a JCW part is weird, since there's no auto JCW. can that **** fit on a manual tranny car?? I would think not, two different shifting technologies

JCW Stage 1 kit is available for 2nd gen automatics. But that's beside the point -- there's an entire catalog of JCW appearance/trim products that have no relationship to the JCW engine, and this **** falls into that category. There is a different JCW **** for the manual tranny.

Anyway, would you really want an alcantara shift ****? Alcantara isn't durable, and I think it would quickly look like shiny, worn out suede.

I think I'm going to have it ordered to take a look. I ordered the alcantara material shift boots from redline, so an alcantara shifter would match.

I also have the wood interior, so a wood **** would go too. I'll have to see which is a better look.

Well, I found a picture of the JCW alcantar shifter for the autos. Outmotoring has them for sale. http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...ber_shift_knob

I have to say that it looks cool. I'm so torn because I have the oak trim already, so an oak shifter will look nice. On the other hand, I'm going to be installing a shift boot from redline in alcantara in black, so it would match.

The jcw **** is half the price though, so that may be a factor.

Just ordered my JCW alcantara shifter from the dealer. Cost $86 but I had a 15% coupon. I love coupons.

Apparently, there was not a single one in the country, so it will take about three weeks to get here. Hopefully it will come sooner. Pics will follow once installed.
