My High Milage 2006 MCS JCW

Well this is numero uno for posting on NAM.

I have this awesome factory built 2006 MCS JCW in Dark Sliver. Pretty basic no sun roof only auto air and multi function steering wheel.

It is in the hospital for about $3k in repair work.
Maint 2, seals, clutch and whatever.

I am running about 91,000 miles and over.

What are similar high milage MCS JCWs seeing as problematic or areas of concern.

No hate here please, mine is a keeper

I will have an update Friday with a list of the work done.

You can tell me if it is worth it.

I have a 2006 MCS JCW convertible. I bought it with about 66,000 miles on it and now it has around 75,500. I have had no problems at all since I bought it, except what appears to be the endemic "running hot" business. But as long as I check periodically to be sure there is enough fluid in the reservoir, that is not a problem either.

By the way, I paid $15,500 for it, in perfect condition inside and out, every package except navigation. I thought it was a good buy when I bought it, and think so even more now.

Sounds nice.

At around 60k my supercharger went kaplooie.

One reason why I took mine into the shop was due to an oil leak that was noticed about 4 months ago.

So since it is in the shop for service 2 we are pulling the sub frame to get to the leaky seal, pulling the control arm bushings, the starter, and replacing the clutch.

I need my car tip top for work and the upcomming winter.

Illinois winters can be a mother on a car.

Just had my 2006 JCW in the dealer for the last warranty work (over 48K now). New clutch, flywheel, front exhaust, motor mount, coolant leak repair...= $2200

BTW, superchargers are covered by smog laws in CA, and must be warrantied for 70k miles.

I used to live in Cali.
But now I live in IL
Is there any law in IL that would cover the supercaharger?

Very expensive tune-up, clutch, starter, and bushing replacement.
I try to do my own work so it frustrates me to see high repair costs that are probably 65% labor.
