the only owners that knock the JCW are those that don't have one. I would never own a MINI that wasn't a JCW. Like it or not, you'll see very few JCW's on the road out of the hundreds of MINI's you'll see in a week. They're rare and they perform wonderfully. Worth it? Only those that buy them will say yes.

If "rarity" matters to you, then sure, it's worth it. If knowing that for far less $$ than a JCW package, you can make your standard Cooper S perform beyond JCW levels...well, then no, it's not worth it. I personally belong to the latter group. Enjoy your overpriced, dealer provided performance package.

I'm not knocking it, honestly, but I think they appeal most to those who value exclusivity over all else. No wrong answer, just what's right for you.

It's not just "rarity" and to me it was worth every penny. Better brakes, more power, aero package and the red stitching and badges

Better turbo, better internals, better suspension, oh and did I mention better when modding when it comes to tuning the JCW.

The MCS doesn't even come close unless you put more than $4k into it. Ask anyone on here. There's a difference BigChill, between the JCW kit and the actual FJCW.

As stated, my comments are geared towards the R53 platform, which, I stand by the claim that a JCW is all show and BS bragging rights due to exclusivity, rather than being due to a marked improvement in performance. I can throw $1,000 at a base R53 and make it outrun a stock JCW. Meanwhile, JCW boys are paying $2,000 for a wheel upgrade from the factory. Enjoy that...
