JCW rear spoiler noise/whistling, how bad/loud is it?

I am considering getting the JCW rear spoiler for my R56 but I am concerned about the excessive noise/whistling some people have experienced with this spoiler. It seems like only some people have had this problem, while the noise problem has not appeared for others. I really like the looks of the spoiler but I would like to know how loud the noise/whistling is. Can it be drowned out by the radio? I also read in one of the related threads that there was a design change to eliminate the noise? Does anyone have any information on this?

I had this issue in my new JCW. The noise can be louder than your radio if you drive over 60mph. But after the service dpt. put a new one on my car, noise is gone. Not every spoiler has this issue.

I've sat in 3 cars with this spoiler, not one made the noise.

So I added the JCW spoiler to Louise on Tuesday. Drive the 40 miles from the dealer back to work in a driving rain and no noise until I exit the interstate. Thought it was unrelated but the rain had let up.

From Leaving work Tuesday evening until this afternoon nothing but a loud unbearable whistling noise.

After toubleshooting the screaming whistle I discovered, with the help of a friend, a small seam on the leading edge of the spoiler wing. Filled said seam with clear RTV and now blissful quietness at all speeds.

See if this fix works for you!

The whistle is there in my case, it isn't as bad as some people explain it but it's deffinitely there. In my case it is not louder than the radio though...
Interesting discovery scottab36, I might try doing the same thing. What exactly did you seal up if you don't mind me asking?
Thanks

Though I didn't have any issues with my JCW wing when I had it, that is a GREAT find Scott.

Way to go.

I used clear silicone (RTV) After it dries, any excess rubs right off!
