Thanks! If anyone needs a carbon fiber guy that does great work at a very fair price, PM me and I'll give out his contact information. You have a very nice ride davo_florida.
I just called all the dealers local to me. I was able to get the kit prepainted for about $2K IIRC. Then I paid another $500 to have it installed by them too. Good luck.

That looks great! I find silly paying so much money for fake CF from Mini. I've had a couple of those pieces and they are plastic with a thin layer of CF. It's only veneer and looks, no performance value what so ever.

Congrats, thats very smart and creative. Very nice. Please let us see the pics once installed. Great job.
Oh by the way:
The whole JCW vs. plain R56...who cares! Some of you are getting into debt for a silly ride. If you can only afford an R53 or even a cooper, thats nice and enjoy your rides. JCW09 sweet ride but lets not over do it thinking its the ultimate machine.
Ooops:
Sorry, back on track! Nice kits everyone, the R56 looks so much better with the kit installed.

These are R56's not 53's and Why would anyone like thick carbon fiber?? the whole idea behind c/f is that it is strong light hence thinner then other composites

Relax bud. I fixed the typo, R56 it is.
Take your time and look at a JCW wing for example like the one you have on your signature. I have one installed on my R53, and I will not repeat that on my JCW09. It is thick plastic, with a thin layer or veneer. Rather have the original wing than the "too fast too furious" look. But hey thats just me and thats why we buy Minis, to customize the rides just the way we like them.

Sippin' on the hate-o-rade are we? You do realize the weight difference between the real JCW cf diffuser and my overlaid one is very minimal, right? I highly doubt the JCW carbon fiber pieces were created for performance, but damn they look cool.

Rear painted black and all tabs still intact...
Beautiful....
I chose 2x2 carbon fiber twill...
Installed...
Since my other car's kit needs to be painted, I'm probably going to have the ship add 2 layers of clear coat to really make this thing pop! Man, I couldn't be more happier!

Thanks Hellion . Trust me, if I could afford the authentic JCW cf pieces on my car, I would've gone that route. But for me, this was a much more viable option and I was just hoping to share an affordable route for some of us that want to save some serious coin in our wallets (for more modding).

Correct, I chose a 2x2 carbon fiber twill... He had other versions too IIRC, but I just went with the most typical one. He had some pretty wild red and yellow carbon/kevlar ones too, but I stayed more conservative. If I was brave enough to do the Joey mod, I'd probably have him wrap that...

My month old 08' MCS w/ JCW kit
Lowered it last week w/ Eibach springs. MINI MADNESS Diverter w/ sprayheads (got from ebay for $40). By the way it doesn't fit the JCW bumper. I had to cut 1/4 of an inch in the front of the diverter to clear the lower mesh. 18" Konig AGAIN 4 w/ Nitto Neo Gen ($1100. from discount tire w/ free warranty both rims and tires). Harman Kardon GPS w/ remote. I'll take more pictures when the car is out of the garage. Let me know what you guys think.......... Thanks -M

Here's a side view of that same car. In the bottom PIC, I wanted to see what it'd look like if I painted the lower sill like the JCW without the faux ducts.
Before you ask... from the dealership, the bumper + painting will run just under $600; The installation looks pretty straight forward so I'm doing it myself.
