JCW Steering Wheel: Advice needed

My dealer today installed the JCW Alcantara steering wheel on my '07 MCS in error instead of the JCW leather steering wheel I ordered. Should I keep the Alcantara wheel or go with the leather wheel? Pros and cons? What do you think? They want an answer.

I just got the all leather wheel and I love it. i originally wanted the alcantara but since the alcantara isn't in a spot where my hands go, I chose to go with the more durable all leather.

There's a bunch of threads about this. Search JCW Steering Wheel.

I went with the Alcantara,I love the look and the feel,I also added the Alcantara shift and brake boot covers as well,I have a picture in my gallery...it's really a personal thing, can't go wrong either way..you will love how the wheel feels either way over the stock wheel...

You should get what you want, don't let the dealer push into something you didn't order.

That said I went w/ leather as alacantra wears easier in my opinion.

is the all leather really more durable?

Personally i want to eventually get the JCW wheel with the Alcantara. I think it looks way better.

I had the dilemma when I was deciding on which JCW wheel. I prefer the feel and grippy non-slip characteristic of alcantara. However, I ended up getting the all leather. Suede (whether real or synthetic like alcantara) will develop shiny wear spots over time. I've heard that BMW M3 all-alcantara wheels look ratty after a few years. In the JCW alcantara wheel, the leather portions of the rim along with meticulously keeping it clean should help keep the alcantara in good shape. However I just didn't want to deal with the issue and don't plan to have matching alcantara elsewhere in the car, so I went for the all-leather and have no regrets.

I have an alcantara wheel since July on my r56 and the soft feel on the top area is gone, but feels good, I have grip and look great.

IF I was to do it again I will do the ..Alcantara, again. The whole feel is different.
The leather one is just a fat version of the current, worth $500+ I personally like to upgrade not replace.

But again is my opinion.
