JCW JCW Checkered Floor Mats
JCW Checkered Floor Mats
I was doing a complete detail on my car yesterday, and realized how dirty my checkered floor mats had gotten...I scrubbed them, but it seemed to only get a top layer of dirt off.
Does anyone have a good solution to bring back the white on the checkered JCW floor mats?

washing machine didnt mess them up??? I have the checkerboard up front, and rubber came with mine in the rear. do they make checkerboard that fit in the rear also. i am a new mini owner-bought a used 2006 mini s convert--camre with these mats. thanks!
I just picked up my set yesterday, and they're actually a metallic silver and black checked pattern! Don't seem like they'll get dirty easily, and seem like they'll be durable. The silver actually seems to be some sort of metallic fabric.
White would have looked better, but these are nice too. Maybe a variation on the original white/black checked mats?
Has anyone actually installed the Velcro grabbers that screw into the floor and that hold the mat in place? I'm afraid to go poking holes into the floor of my brand new car for the sake of floor mats! How do you know where to make the holes?

i was guessing they were white checkerboard too--but somewhat glad it was mentioned they should be silver!! if anyone has had a good method of cleaning these to get the white or silver really clean-would love to hear any tips. the mats came with the car and wasnt sure at first if i would like them--but now after a couple weeks i think they do add a bit of flare--and they do seem to be very well made. i dont have them for the rear-and thinking i might should replace the rubber mats that also came with the car with these--so i can be completely checkered!!!
I answered my own question....the holes are pre-drilled.
This is a super old thread, but my husband was cleaning our MINI's this morning, and was getting super frustrated with the fact that we just can't seem to get the JCW floor mats as clean as the rest of the car. I saw someone suggest the Oxy carpet cleaning product, which we are going to try. I've tried car wash detergent, Clorox cleaner with bleach, lime-a-way, rubbing alcohol, and Pre-Wow! Everything seems to take a little bit of dirt off, but they still look pretty dirty. I'm wondering if anyone has any other suggestions? Thanks!
I just tried to clean them again, and Soft Scrub seemed to work pretty well. I have a feeling that once these things are used for a while, they're going to be impossible to restore to NEW condition. Like you said, the big dirt comes off, but they're never quite as bright as when you take them out of the wrapper
I should also note that these mats do NOT grab on well to the velcro style (hook) grippers on the floor of my R56 Cooper, and they slide forward a LOT.
While these look very cool, after owning them for a couple of years now, I would not recommend them given their cost and performance in the long run.

Best thing ever, Woolite mixed 1:6 with water and it will take out just about anything. Spray it on, let is soak for about 30 seconds and scrub it with a tightly rolled, clean, WHITE terry cloth towel and you'll be surprised what you get out and how well it works.
