'07 JCW Cabrio @ $39,300.00

I was just out at Classic, and there was an '07 BRG Cabrio S JCW with black wheels and what appeared to be a soon to be installed aero kit stickered at $39,300.00.

My goodness it was a sweet looking ride. The black wheels were amazing. Green top and green body........

Wow, that's higher than what I would want to spend on a Mini...40K is starting to approach the price range of some fantastic vehicles. I'd just prefer to get the S and mod it myself saving a few $$$ (okay warranty is shot...but still).

Choose your wheels and suspension, you have yourself a more rare vehicle IMO.

BTW moreorless, any pics?

There is no 2007 JCW. Might want to look at that again.

Mini hasn't introduced the 2007+ JCW Mini's yet.

The one you saw might have a few JCW bits on it, but that doesn't qualify it as a JCW.

Did it have a JCW Certificate of Authenticity?

This is a cabrio so you can still get all the same bits as before the R56. The Cabrio doesn't change until 09.

CABRIO JCW...Still available with original supercharger (not turbo)
until...well, early 2009. (?)

Full JCW kit for 2nd gen hardtop/clubman/cabrio? 2011? Maybe? Stage I late 2007/early 2008? Stage II late 2008/early 2009? Stage III 2010+?
Reliability? Turbo meltdown?

Polished Next Gen JCW seems a ways away. Can't wait though.

In the meantime I'll be plenty happy in my 2007 JCW Cabrio!

My MINI was close to/around the 40k range, and I don't even have JCW!

Welp, it said JCW on the window sticker and I think it was 6k? I think they were putting Aero side skirts on it. But it was just plain awesome. BRG body, BRG convertible top, slickest black wheels, Works exhaust tips sticking out. And it was outside!!

Fine, fine MINI....Les

Sorry no pics.....

Because of what you did, not what you bought from the factory, right?

It's not hard to push 40k from the factory. Mine was ~ $38,200 after TTL (would have to check what it was before TTL), and that was *without* NAV, JCW, the Aero Kit, or the DPSM.

When I saw that I was getting close to $40k, it did cross my mind that I was entering into year-old Lotus Elise territory, along with several other neat cars, but I still went with the MINI. For the options and appointments I selected, I still feel like it's a good value.

Exactly...but I guess if it's a Mini you want, you're willing to spend. When I started shopping for these a few months back, I was a bit surprized of the cost...even used. But 40K new starts running into BMW 335i, Audi TT, maybe even a used Boxter or Elise like you said. IMO, if you want the Mini to be more unique, I would prefer to spend 29/30K and customize to the max (but that's me).

I guess some folks have wads of cash coming out of their pockets and can drop 40K on a car without batting an eye.

Yea, but is a BMW 335i or Audi TT as cool or fun to drive as a MINI? A Boxter, and look like some rich a hole? The Elise OK, but used vs a new MINI. The BMW's and Audi are for the spoiled rich highschool kids whose parents have tons of money and have nothing better to do with it.

I'd choose the MINI any day. My 06 JCW with leather and... came in at like 35,000 I would not even consider something else. And for the record, this is my first NEW car ever and I'm no spring chicken.

Just my 2 cents and then some.
