When having the HIDs the stock fogs looked terrible, so I changed out the bulbs for Nokya H8 yellow bulbs, that took care of that for sure but here's another thing that bothered me...the parking lights. I'm not sure who thought that white would look good, but IMO it doesn't so I took care of that today and replaced them with 194 NA bulbs (NA=natrual amber) and because of the reflector housing around it, they look like LEDs For $3.38 you can't beat it IMO. Just thought I'd pass this along to those looking for those "mini" details that are "mini" in price, but change things around enough to give the car an even more personal look.

Klass Act,
after you changed the tail lights to 195NA, do you think that the fog lights need to be changed also to keep the overall color scheme the same? i'm going to pick up the 195 NA this week. not a car guy/mechancial skills but will try and do it myself.

I didn't change the tailights, I changed the parking lights (right above the foglights) to 1-9-4 NA bulbs, not 195 (I'm sure it was a typo ) As far as the foglights go yes, I changed them too. I went with a Nokya H8 yellow fogbulb (2500K) Even when the fogs aren't on the housing is all yellow, looks real cool, but when the fogs are on...WOW The replacement of the bulbs are real easy, just turn your wheel so you've got access to the round door that turns and comes right off, then you've got access to both the foglight bulb and parking light bulb. The parking light bulbs is a little tricky to get out, but just play with it and you'll get it.

$40.00 (max) for the fogs, just google Nokya H8 yellow fogs and it will come up (don't have the invoice infront of me, but if you can't find it let me know) and another $4.00 for the 194NA bulbs. This really changes the looks/perf of your MINI's lighting performance....BIG TIME

Does this change the brightness, either measured or perceived?

Good question and YES, it actually adds to the brightness of my lights which are HIDs. The parking lights are purely cosmetic though and besides, the amber parking lights should match the amber turn signal color, right Its a well known fact that yellow/amber fogs cut through the fog/bad weather better than the dim light of a halogen bulb, so from that stand point its a better choice too

I will take some pics tonight, but its hard to say how they'll come out and what conclusions you'll be able to draw from them. I will post them but this one of those things you'll have to take my word for, well I know my word doesn't mean much around here YET, but I have a pretty good eye for detail and this is one of those things that looks "right"

Pics of this mod a "NO GO!"

Sorry guys, but I tried to take some pics of the lights in the garage and they just don't turnout good enough to show off this mod, you've got to take my word for it I mean the parking lights are only about $4.00, so that's no biggie and as far as the fogs go, well, if your like me and only use them in bad weather, this is the set up to go with as they cut through the "crap". On the other hand if your one of those guys/gals that likes all the lights on, the yellow fogs really add to the HIDs, you can actually see the yellow with the HIDs

Sorry to keep bothering you about this. i opened the round door and was able to remove the parking lights (right above the foglights) without any problems. but clearly i have bought the wrong bulbs. i have gone to Pepboys and Autozone without success. attached is a picture of the bubls that i bought. help.

Pray, those ARE the bulbs I bought, same brand too. The top connector is for the parking lights (194NA) and the bottom one is for the foglights (H8). I'm sure you'll figure this out, its pretty easy, but the parking light socket can be a little bit of a PITA to twist out BTW, your not bothering me, this is what a forum is for, its all good
