Bart, I had reason to speak with Peter earlier, and he addressed my concerns regarding the wing, and the 3 available angles. So, no need to get the camera out tomorrow for me... The car looks great, and nice job on the lights as well!

Here are the pics of the 3 wing settings. Bear in mind that I did not use a tripod and while I attempted to just stand normally and take pics - there is proabably some distortion. The differences between setting is appr. a 1/4" yet I am sure from an aero perspective it is significant at speed.

Side view starting from highest to lowest

Here is front view from highest to lowest

We love the wing. We were concerned that it was going to be visually big and bulky and its not - its smaller in appearance which is what we wanted. While some perfer that the wing body contours, we think it frames the car very well being straight.

The true value of the wing was spending time w/ my son modding in the garage.

Oh, I almost forgot the most important NAM factor in this post - standing still it added 18hp and on the road another 12hp for a grand total of 30 HP!! Dyno graphs to be posted later.

Does this act as a spoiler or a true wing?

How many pounds of downforce does it exert on the different setting. For example, I can find the number of pounds of downforce exerted by the Exige Wing. Any emperical data on what it really does?

Cool, that's good to hear. I need to see one mounted in person.

Oh, I'm sure you are! I was thinking along the lines of taking a poke at a particular vendor (not M7) here on NAM...

Bart, I appreciate the follow through! Above and beyond what I was hoping for...

With regard to measurement of downforce... I recall there being a few ways, and some quite expensive. However, looking at ride height (think Italian Job) is certainly one, as well as spring compression.

For a fun experiment, have someone snap photos (on a tripod, ideally) at let's say 70, 100 and 120mph, with the wing in it's 3 different positions. Looking at wheel gap could be telling. For a car that has seen a lot of weight loss in the rear, like mine (rear seats gone, battery box removed, 24-pound lighter battery, and a 30-pound lighter exhaust, et al), this might be easier to visually see...

Hitting a track or strip to record max speeds attained over time or distance would help... or a sweeper, noting at what speeds the back end breaks loose, or starts to feel unstable at various wing settings would be an indicator of effectiveness.

If you are looking for a wing that really was measured then the cup wing is probably what you want. I bought cause it looks good to me on my Mini. it does have some positive effect, but I can't describe how I know on NAM.

The wing install was pretty simple. The hardest part is removing the old wing for besides the 2 bolts it has 3M tape holding it in place. Fishing line, a hair dryer and patience got the old wing off with no damage to the car. Step two is to clean and prep the roof. Step 3 is to bolt on the wing. Common sense bolt up everything loosely, once everything is lined up, a little thread lock and tighten.

Fit and finish was very good.

enough said - here are some pics

After that, you can graduate to the "chili dog", the "glass-bottom boat", and the "rusty trombone"!

Nice looking wing. We just installed our FBR wing and I like both! Too bad I don't have more than one MINI

That's a very nice looking setup. Great looking car too. Has anyone (M7?) actually tested how this wing affects the turbulence that usually follows the MINI? It would be nice to see some actual scientific data on this .
