I never got a wing before because of 3 reasons, but this one takes care of those very nicely!

aesthetics (looks awesome!)
no drilling of holes (thank you)
performance (this looks to have ideal postioning and adjustment range)

I too want to see more pictures...

It was a chance event. I just happened into a spot next to the other wings. Didn't realize it for a few hours till someone else pointed out the most of the wings out on the market all happened to be lined up. There was the JCW, Fireballed and M7, I cannot recall seeing a P.U. wing on anything but a Madness Mini, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, the pictures in this thread are of GNAT. At this time it is the only Mini with the production M7 wing. It was delivered to me at AMVIV by Peter and installed by Steve from Custom Mini Shop. Someone should show some of the pics they have of the whole car. Then you can really see how balanced this wing is compared to some of the others IMNSHO.

Seems I heard my name being called!! LOL. Here is Nathans car that I worked on at AMVIV.

Before working but good pic of M7 wing

My assistant Benny caught by surprise! You can see the profile of the wing here.

All finished!

I know the EZups kind of detracted from the pix. I wasn't trying to document the wing--just the finish.

All finished!

Except that this is functional. Rice is typicly non functional and completley ugly.

I like this m7 much better. All you get with the JCW gear is factory backing/prestige...this is much cheaper and much better...I mean its functional and great looking. I cannot wait to order one myself.

I noticed that the M7 and the FBR wing both use the same mounting hardware and brackets. I know that the FBR is from APR, so does that mean that the M7 wing is from APR as well?

We wish...how about 2x the M7? Unfortunately for me, the JCW has one thing going for it--it actually follows the curves of the roofline, whereas the M7, like all the others, is a flat plate that looks like...a flat plate stuck on a curved roof. Mmmm, where's Joel to give us the opinion of a real auto designer?
JMHO.

I highly doubt that. From what I've read, the m7 wing has a setting which lowers the wing to a position well below the air stream to reduce drag when downforce isn't needed. The Fireball Tim wing doesn't. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what I the available information had seemed to show me....

Actually the JCW wing can be had on Ebay from Morristown Mini for $399 on regular bases. Just an FYI.

The pics I enclosed are of an FBR APR wing. I have this wing as well, but I had to return it for some defects. I took these pics from a thread on m|u. You will notice it is the SAME brackets as the M7. Both are adjustable. I am in no means saying that the M7 is better/worse, just stating they have the same brackets, that is all.

We , FBR and M7 get their wings from APR. I can not speak for the FBR guys but we designed the end plates , center wing piece and the aluminum connection bracket which attaches to the wing. The mounting plate is a APR product and we both share that which gives it a lot of similarity. Our main thrust with our bracket was to get the wing in a position which could provide minimal drag for everyday driving but still be able to get it up into the air stream when needed . When in the low setting the drag is almost non existent but there are two more aggressive settings for track days . This is a small improvement over the first generation wing which I have on my car as my lowest position is comparable to the new wings middle spot. We also moved the wing back a bit for more leverage with less drag as well.

Randy,

Ya'll need to tell APR the bolts in the brackets need to be 1/4" longer as they don't hit the nylon in the nylock nut. A few of us saw the exact same issue with the Fireballed wing when I was parked next to it and we did a direct comparison so they are sending the wrong stuff.

GNATSTER, does the wing create any noise on the highway? did you feel any effects at highway speeds? RANDY, hopefully you'll get the new, longer bolts in my kit before mailing. it was great seeing you all last week.
