Schroth Harness part missing - can I order it somewhere?

(Note: I also posted this question in the St. Louis MINI club forum)

I have a 2003 Schroth Rallye 4 harness, driver's side black, for my 2003 MCS. I no longer have the clip that is attached to the car in the back seat (I think it is called the left side tail strap connector - it's the male clip that the harness attaches to). Is it possible to just order that one part? I already have the harness.
The serial number on my harness is 008132, if that helps.

Angel

P.S. In case you are wondering, I believe that connector was stolen when I shipped my car with the military. The shippers warned me to remove everything from the car that wasn't bolted down. Since that clip was attached to the car, I didn't think anyone would steal it! But I can't find it amongst my MINI Cooper gear, so I'm pretty sure it was stolen. I really missed using that Schroth harness last year during Solo II, and I want to get the part ordered in time for autocross this year!

Holy Crap
Wasn't that clip bolted down? And why would they steal it? That would require the removal of the seats, and dimantling the bolt holding the seatbelt down.

The best solution is to call the Schroth company, explain your situation and see if they can send you that piece.

I too have the harness and will be shipping the MINI back home. Now I am worried

Why would they steal it? Why not? They also stole the cup holder, that was firmly attached to that curved pylon framing the center console (not the current cupholders, but an aftermarket type made a few years ago) AND they stole the nice leather pouch with the MINI logo on it, that held the owner's manual. At least they didn't steal the owner's manual! I'm guessing the guys that have access to the cars during shipping have a lot of time on their hands.

There is one possibility that I haven't explored yet - the missing connector might be stuck under the back seat. Shortly before I shipped the car, I had the Wet Okole seat covers removed so the leather seats underneath could be conditioned. It's possible the guys at Wet Okole stuck the connector under the seat when they put the seat back in ... but I doubt it.

So I would advise you ... if there's ANYTHING in your car that can be removed by someone with sticky fingers and plenty of time ... get it out of your car before shipping!

P.S. I have also been around the Nurburgring and it is AWESOME!!! Do you know of anyplace in the States that is like the Nurburgring???

Sorry to hear about the bad experience of shipping your MINI. Hope it works out for you.

Thanks for the advice. If you have more, I'm all hears. My biggest fear is shipping mine back.

The Dragon in NC, US Route 129 is close, and Laguna Seca is another good alternative, but I'm not sure they allow track days.

Honestly, I don't know of any place that could ever take the place of Nurburgring. Its a special place that could never be replicated.

Angel,

Well that's a pain. However you can order parts for Schroth from HMS Motorsport at http://www.hms-motorsport.com/. You'll want to call them to explain exactly what you need.

Thank you! I also got two replies to this post in the St. Louis Region forum, so I have a couple of different avenues to try. I'll let y'all know what I find out.

RudyT - Here are the answers I got on the other forum:

Check with Dave Whitworth at SPS (Solo Performance Specialities) 780 Merus Court, Fenton MO 63026. 1-877-614-7656 he should be able to help you out.

and ...

try http://www.schrothracing.com/

The advantage of HMS is that they're the Schroth importer for the US.
