Sunroof shade?

i couldnt find if this has been posted before, but do they make shades for the sunroof that arent mesh like the stock ones? i usually leave it back anyways, but i just got my windshield tinted with 15%, and it makes the windshield look not even tinted when its sunny becuase the sun shines through the roof. id rather not tint the sunroof, but if i have to....lol

thanks in advance

currently, there are only 2 ways to make your sunroof/moonroof be opaque..there are some cardboard-type things that some people sell that fit in between the mesh shade and the glass ( but you need to put it in and take it out ech time you need it). .....or you can get an opaque decal that permanently is attached to the glass so it is always opaque.

I am currently trying to get produced a retractible opaque sunroof shade that I have developed that allows you to render the sunroof opaque, or not, use the mesh shade, or not, or combination where the front of the sunroof is opaque but just behind your head is the mesh so the direct glare of the sun is blocked but still light can filter in behind so you still the that airy open feel you get with a sunroof (note; this will be easy to attach or remove with no drilling or modification)

yes, there was a thread on here that gave directions on how to make one by altering a larger sun shade. If I find the link to the other thread I will post it here.

Ditto... it worked perfectly to block that extra bit of glare.

Since I have a white roof, I covered my windshield with white vinyl. About $20 for a large sheet from the local sign shop. Installed it myself and it looks perfect.

I put it on the medium tint... they put it on inside. I watched so the black vinyl should you choose would work inside too.

my sunroof shade is cardboard, then brown paper on top, so from above you cannot see the ladder box.

Sun Roof Tinting

I had both sun roofs tinted to 5%. It works great for me.

I had the front side windows 35% (Law in MIssouri), back three done at 15%.

How do you see where you're going?

I have the $50 set from Stratmosphere, and even though I know the price is sky high, I still think it was money well spent. They fit perfectly. On a related note, their windshield sunshade is probably also a great buy compared to the OEM one, which could not possibly have been designed and fitted much worse.

Its not hard to measure and cut cardboard, this mod took about 5 minutes. I did the same for my rear sunroof.

Tinted my sunroof 30% on top of whatever % the existing tint was from the factory. Car, head stay cool, and you can see out fine, plus it looks great with the black roof.

I did mine with some static cling 20% tint. Works good but it wasn't much fun applying tint above my head.
