Parcel Shelf non slide liner (low cost option)

When the Euro Parcel shelf market was going crazy in October, I was able to snag one without issue but it did not come with the non slip liner as they were out of stock. Once the shelf was installed, the slipping and sliding was very unnerving and it was obvious it had to be rectified right away! We can't have things sliding all over the place, especially not into the pedal area!

I put my McGyver hat on and came up with a low cost, simple solution. I had purchased a new standing tool box a few months prior *insert man grunt* and had tool box liner left over. I said to myself, self why can't I use that for my parcel shelf? Guess what, the material is very inexpensive and easy to cut to a custom fit. I have had it installed for about two months - no problem.

You can pick it up in sheets or rolls at Lowe's, Sear's, Home Depot, etc.
I hope this helps someone save a buck or two and solve that annoying Parcel Shelf Shifting Syndrome.

And if you want to color coordinate it with your body color, kitchen shelf liner works well too. Caution with this method thou...... if it gets too hot in the car it can and will stick to the shelf and leave residue.

These are actually rubber liners and not similar to typical kitchen liner.

You can't beat that deal, but of course you had to pay shipping!

Yup my comment about the sticking was only for the kitchen ones, although I've had my toolbox liners want to stick also........ of course this was after 14 years so it might not be an issue

That's great, I pulled the shelf and did it without a true template. It worked out okay, but would have been much simpler with the template.

I made a few from shelf liner a few years ago for our local club. Had a great time doing it. Sold 'em for $2.00 and had orders from both coasts. It was a hoot.
