I think my winter project is goin to be all about smokin all the lights and blackin out some chrome bits here and there! Anyways...I had a question about the rear tails. I searched the threads and I have found that most people use the film kits to tint the tails and that covers the whole light. I saw one car, its in the thread, with the clear reverse light circle on the 05 tails left clear but they were painted I think. I wanna do this, but I dont wanna have to paint the light so I was wondering if there were any film kits with the reverse lights cut out. And is there a 3rd brake lite film?... cuz I wanna smoke that also. I want the reverse lights to be clear cuz i I have the 05 back up light kit and that will remain clear. 20% tint all around makes it hard enuff to see behind me wit clear reverse lights!! Any input is appreciated...Thanx

All the smoked tails I've ever seen that have the clear reverse light cut-out werre painted, but I suppose you could cut the film... It would be very hard to get a perfectly circular cut by hand, though...

I have the film on my tails and the reverse light is plenty bright I think, even covered - definitely noticable. If you REALLY want to be sure though, you can always add in the 3rd tail light in the center knock-out and run it alongside the lamp-mounted lights. NOBODY could miss THAT.

 

yeah i figured...the thing is im goin for like not a completely smoked look. i wanna do the tails with the reverse lights clear, keep my third reverse clear where the fog light shud be, and smoke the 3rd brake light. As for the front i think i found a lamin-x kit on some site and i wanna lightly smoke the headlights, put the yellow tint on the two circular parking lamps, and then im just gonna smoke all the side markers. With red i think this will look prett sick... anybody got a pic of the light tint on their front headlights?

I added it to my setup when preping for the tint. It's SUPER easy to install and is like a 15 min mod tops.

I've never heard of Half Moon, but I know that Outmotoring.com (NAM sponsor) carries the tail, side marker and headlight kits, and that their owner, Aaron is a great online merchant. I know he also carries a blackout tape kit as well for your chrome bits.

 

I've purchased from halfmoon before(alta cai w/top) and had no problems. If your wanting lamin-x, you can buy direct from lamin-x like I did.
