Interior/Exterior Removing rear windshield wiper
i removed mine too. i went to Lowes and bought the 3 required parts from their extensive fasteners selection.
1-elevator bolt with a head slightly larger than the hole in the rear glass and
2-black rubber washers slightly larger than the head on the elevator bolt
i painted the head of the elevator bolt semi-flat black and installed it.
i like this best as it lays very flat against the glass and is the least obvious solution possible yet it is a sound seal given the ability to tighten the nut on the opposite end of the elevator screw.

For some reason I never got the email alerts regarding replies in this thread...
Hmm... 4 pounds max to like 10 pounds. Was sort of hoping for 5+. I'll check with onasled also as he gutted everything out of his MCS, and likes to weigh stuff. Thank you.

unfortunately i don't have the part numbers as i did this several months ago. go to lowes. have the OD of the opening in the glass with you as the head on the elevator bolt and the washers will need to be larger than this OD. also i failed to mention that you will need a large flat washer for the interior side against the rubber washer. it is all straight forward. i can post a photo if need be. this is a 1 (easy) on the DIY scale.
Nice to have an easy project for once, so that's good. I think I'm good to go then. I wouldn't mind seeing a photo of how yours turned-out though. If not much trouble.... Otherwise, no biggie. Thanks much.
ive seen the shark fin like on the new beemers, but not totally shaved off, would be pretty trick. plus I dont have mine hooked up anyways. I didnt spend all that money on a bad *** system to listem to crappy fm or am!

As I was closing the hatch this morning I noticed the same thing. Already searching for a replacement........... thinking a firewall panel plug would be better. I think I'll check the NAPA store on the way home tonight.
Green white & red half moon sticker (over the tow plug) is an Italian flag.
Mi familia come from Lombardia near Milano and my wife is a hot blooded Siciliana (Palermo). I know better than to cross her, the family is very well *conected*
Ciao,

Too much in common!
IB MCS, penchant for performance, Cal and yes, I'm an Italiano also... and actually have one of the Euro "ITA" oval stickers on my rear window. Too funny, I'm half Northern Italian (near Milan also) and Sicilian.
I'm guessing you just trimmed the excess electrical tape around the Cal sticker with an exacto knife. I'll give that a shot. Heck, I was just at Cal, and could have gotten such a decal! Thanks again.

Ciao Antonio!
Indy Blue = Is there any other color for a Cal alumni?
I've got some great little ita stickers on my rear quarter windows. They're off a Moto Guzzi (long gone). Might be visible in my gallery.
Rear wiper hole: I trimmed the electrical tape so it just covers and seals the hole. The CAL sticker fits completely over the tape. The student store has all shapes and sizes. I've got them on everything. Cult?

And besides Cal... the Italian soccer team... the Azzurri, all decked in blue!
That's a cool thread, thanks. Just another excuse to go back to Cal.
Or just order online...
Thankfully the rainy season is over, so no rush on replacing this plug. Thanks again for the great idea!

Man I am so homesick for Norcal I could scream!
My wife and I spent 5 weeks in Italy last summer, Scicily to Milan. Half of it was by motorcycle. Trip of a life time. We were there through out the World Cup. Nothing can come close to that experience. Needless to say I own their home jersey, visitors and goalies along with several other national teams including both of Milan's. Mostly blue I might add. Blue is a lifestyle. It's just good mojo
