Remote Control Auto Window Up Module

Hi

I saw the Remote Control Auto Window Up Module from http://outmotoring.com/remote_contro...up_module.html

Anyone fitted this in the MINI? How hard is the instalation? Do I need to solder some wires? Anyone have a instruction manual?

I want to see if I can fit it before making an order

Thanks

Maaij

I have the MCAW (auto window up basic) that installs in minutes and does not require any soldering. This is for raising the windows within the car.

Yeah it's kind of silly that we can open all of the windows with the remote but then have to turn the key in the lock to roll them back up. I'd use T-taps (NOT Scotchloks!). More on this in the previous thread: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=55492

I've seen instructions for this somewhere and I think it does require cutting some wires. It is not the same as GBMinis Auto Up circuit. This is the Remote (key fob) Auto Up device. Do a search, it shouldn't be to hard to find the instructions.

This is a little differen the MCAW. This is a module that allows you to auto up from your remote and is a little more involved.

There is no soldering needed as you can et T-taps or other types of splices to tap into the wire.

I have it and plan on installing it sometime soon.

I just installed my KP Technologies module today. Very nice mod. I can't tell you how many times I get out, arms loaded with laptop bag, a few drawings, etc. only to notice the sunroof or a window is open. No more leaning back in, sticking in the key and reaching for the right button for me anymore!

Thanks to Gilll7 for the photograph. It spoke a 1,000 words. It is nice to see the insides before having to start taking the dash apart. It helped with getting the skirt and steering column cover off as much as finding the right wires. I looked at that photo as much as the printed directions.

How did you solder way back up in there? I tried with my cheap soldering iron, but it just couldn't do the job. I wrapped each tightly and crimped them together for now hoping to go back under and solder them correctly when it's much, much warmer out.
