5% limo on the back 3 and 20% on the sides cost me $200 (probably a little less but I know it wasn't more).

Defintely go with the limo on the back and go down to 20% on the sides. well worth it. Do keep in mind it makes it a little more challenging in the middle of the night

$150.00 and up depends on the shop is what I found, I spent much more than that on mine but its one of a kind art work. Be careful about the shade I was once handed a razor blade by a cop and had to scrape all my Limo tint off while he watched. Now I stick with the legal shades, I just hate wasteing money like that. Good Luck!

I already had a run in with the local PD 2 weeks ago, so I think I am good. I see so many cars around here far worse than what I want.

Thanks for the info. It's been a while since I've had tinted windows. Anyone use their rear fog light for extra help in backing out with tint?

13% all the way around, and 50% full windsheild.

= $245

Legal schmegal....

the funny thing is that they are supposed to crack down here in the south and I have even had the police coment on tint on different vehicles but no one seems to care if it really meets the 35% requirements and I'm talking about a break in I had and they told thought the tint on the work van might be too dark. I told them "you think?" it was 5% limo all the way around but they didn't seem to care.

Then again I try not to attract the unwanted attention of the police these days

*in no way am I promoting the action of violating any laws. I suggest you check with your local municipalities for the laws regarding tinting before you make your decision*

Limo tint was the next darker than mine but I could have done either for the same, I spent $120. (Indy)

I here ya. In communist Ohio (j/k), I was pulled over the day I changed to OH plates for tint on the driver/passenger windows (It was legal in Indy). The MINI is a very noticable car, especially its seems in my trim. Cost me only $85, from an officer "meaning to pull in behind you for a while now and light you up...," and "I'd let you off with a warning but you probably wouldn't fix it..."

The moral of this story is not to spend any time in Pickerington, OH as the town mounties are dicks. But do the tint you want, its a risk, but so is driving.

Mine cost me $170 from a local professional shop (they do SEMA work too). I got 20% all around.

And if you ever get pulled over, roll down the windows!

I have 4% all the way around with a sun strip and I paid $100 even. Johnson film was used. I use to tint windows when I was younger and for $100 it is dirt cheap and the quailty is perfect. I later also tinted the moon roof in 4%

This is great info. I had been thinking about getting Nitro tinted, but wasn't sure how much it would cost. Why didn't I ask here??

$100 for the MD legal 35% on side and rear windows as part of a local deal

then $35 more for the windsheild strip and sunroof in 5%.

Just fyi, the % of the tint shouldn't change the price. If the shop wants to charge you more for 5% than for 35%, they're workin' you.

x2, and if the shop won't/can't do your front windows they are stupid. All good shops SHOULD be able to do them, keep in mind all BMW's have the same feature.

Do your customer/clients/whatevers call you an a$$h0le for doing your job? I had my run-ins with the police when I was younger and learned a valuable lesson. If you aren't doing anything wrong, they don't mess with you. Police serve a purpose, like it or not...

hahahaha but it's soooo easy to do the fronts...apply as normal with doors open and leave a little extra at the bottom. Sit inside car...close door and apply the rest and tuck into weather stripping.

So you have clear fronts and 5 in back

I've found an easy way of disabling the up-down feature. Roll the windows up all the way while the doors are open. Then re-enable them by just rolling the windows up with the door closed.

Not to totally hijack the thread, but while I'd love to believe this sentiment, it's not always true. My very polite, mild-mannered boyfriend was pulled over not 3 blocks from our house by an NYPD officer who asked for his license and registration, then went back to his cop car. When the cop came back he was holding two tickets: One for the driver not wearing a seatbelt (which he WAS...very strange), and one for the driver not having proof of insurance (which he had but the officer hadn't asked for!). I'm sure it was a quota thing, and when my boyfriend went to fight it the cop didn't show, but it was still a huge PITA and really shook him up.

Yes, of course policemen serve a purpose. Most of the time, anyway. But sometimes they're looking out for themselves, as most of us have likely done at one time or another.

Okay, apologies for the rant. Back to the topic at hand.
