There is more to just price. Part of the price is the tint itself. Is it:

Dye-based (cheapest)
Metallic based or Hybrid Dye/Metallic (midrange)
Ceramic (Uber expensive) such as Huper Optik or Formula One Ultimate series.

I have been pulled over countless times. I have three tint tickets in my car right now. I have had limo tint on all my cars for over 16 years. Sometimes I go a year with nothing and then sometimes twice in a day. Its a crap shoot, but I love the privacy.

I just got pulled over yesterday, for following a cop through a yellow light.

He gave me a warning (i think because he went through the same yellow light. )

He never mentioned my 13% all around and 50% full windsheild.

But of course i always roll down my front side windows before the cop even gets out of his car.

He didnt seem to know i was missing my side lights/reflectors in my wheel arches either.

*Hi-jack off*

Hows the tint on the roof? Do you ever miss the amount of light that used to come in?

Here is a link to a thread with pics of my car. (scroll down they are sorta near the bottom)
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...t=62191&page=3

The tint isnt really as dark as it looks. It looks darker due to the fact that the 13% all the way around doesnt let light in behind the windsheild, which makes the front windsheild seem darker then it really is. Also the car is parked in the shade under a tree, you can see the shadow on the bonnet.

And no...its not that hard to see out of. Only time it might give you a problem is if you are having to look for a house address while going down the street at night, but then you can just roll down the side windows.

However...it does help against on comming traffic, who have "burn your eyes out of your skull" HID lights.

*sorry for hi-jack*

I paid about 320 bucks. It included 20% on the side windows (front and back) and rear windshield and 5% on sunroof. It is a Johnson film.

May i second that statement? Must be a SoCal thing... But to stay on topic: ---> $180 for 5-windows w/ "lifetime gaurantee" (whatever that means) (Are Californians the only ones who call it "limo-tint"?)

I've heard the term "Limo-tint" down here in florida, but it is normally refered to 5% tint only. Atleast from what i have experianced.

I think I paid around $140-$150, but that was about two years ago. Still holding up pretty well.

Paid $45 for do it yourself window tint on Ebay. Took me 2 hours (never tinted before) and came out fantastic with few flaws but the back window was a beeatch. Been on there for 6 months with no problems, even my normal tint guy was impressed (he charges $160). It's pre-cut so that's half the work right there.

I paid $245 for Llumar tint--20% on the sides and 15% on the rear three. I have a lifetime warranty on material and installation--and had it done by Solar Care, who is experienced with MINI's. I'm real happy with the look--I'm just keeping my fingers crossed, since I'm in SoCal.

$240 for MA legal (rear and the 2 side windows). The company I used has a machine that cuts the film exactly to fit the car. Everyone who's ridden in my car thinks that it's factory tint. The best part, the tint is guaranteed for life.

$200 for 35% all around. I wouldnt pay more than this for a MINI, regardless of the tint %. Also, make sure the shop you go to is using a metallic based tint, otherwise the tint will fade and look purpleish/blueish over time...no good.
The tint is a MUST on dark colored cars IMO.
