Group Buy: Xenon-Match Foglights

I just want to see if there is any interest in possibly putting together a group buy on some xenon-match bulbs for the foglights. NAM-user, trip024, recommended some bulbs to me that he is currently using and says they match the factory-Xenons well. The company is Vision Bulbs (www.visionbulbs.com) they are normally $35 but they do take group buy orders. There are pics on the website, they look promising. If anyone interested in buying these bulbs please post here. Thanks.

If this group buy gets off the ground I would be in for a set and for a set of new Xenon head light bulbs as well.

You might try. http://bimmian.com/MN click on the xenesis matching HID bulbs ... $30 and match the MINI Xenons.

or http://www.rallylights.com/hella/H11.asp Optiplex (Hella) Xenon matching purples are $25.27 pair at 4000K (vice 4200 for visionbulbs).

These come highly recommended http://www.hoen-usa.com/fog.htm Hoen ... Xenonmatch $29/pair

True Hids are 4300 (not 4200) http://www.rallylights.com/hella/bul...#Light%20Color

Not sure if they are bluer but not as "bright" whatever that means.

Also see this. http://forums.officer.com/forums/arc...p/t-41131.html

A true HID light casts a white light (looks like light blue tint). There are cheap imitations which are a plain bulb with a blue coating and these cast a blue light. When I stop a car with suspect headlights I hold a piece of white paper in front of the light. If the paper turns blue, that is illegal and driver gets "Norked" (gets a ticket)

Matt
I've corresponded with Daniel Stern about lighting upgrades, and this was his recommendation for the 02-04 backup light:
Type 796, $7.20/ea. 35w (stock = 27w at line voltage, the P21W designator
refers to 21w @ 12v; line voltage is 13.2, and as voltage increases,
wattage increases). Produces 62 candlepower (stock is 32 candlepower).
Working very successfully in many, many MINI reversing lamps.
He sells the 796 bulb. I haven't tried it myself. Online, I have also seen 50w halogen bulbs but I would be cautious about going to such high wattage with the original electronics and wiring.

No, lower temps are more yellow, higher temps more blue, and at the upper temps the color turns purple. I've heard that the OEM xenons are around 4300K.

THe factory xenons are 4300k from my understanding. And from what I recall the vision bulbs xeno-match fogs are 4200k and thats the reason why I ordered them. Its almost a perfect match. Ill post some pics tonight . Only real problem I have w/ them are they are blue bulbs thus showing during the day but I can deal with it just because its barely noticable as the fog lens are small anyway.

I also just ordered the special replacement bulbs for the MINI Driving lights (Part# 63 12 0 144 132). Im hoping theyre not blue bulbs otherwise I will have to continue my search. Any suggestions??

Yes, they are H3s. Dont know the color.

Or try the Bimmians, $30 for a pair of H3s. They claim to match the MINI Xenons perfectly.

I have heard nothing but good things about the Hoen.

I'm interested in the Group Buy

For what it's worth, I have the Hoen "Xenonmatch" in my M3 fogs and in my opinion aren't even close to the 4300K xenon. The purpose to get xenonmatch is to match the xenon.

Alright well, Trip024 its OK for your OT since you inspired the Group Buy. Chow4us, thanks for the recommendations but I, at least, will be sticking with the Vision Bulb Xeno-Match bulbs.

The discount price is 50% off the Xeno-Match products. In the e-mail I received it did not say it had to be one specific bulb size, so I am assuming those of you wanting the low beams or high beams can order as well.

Dr O, they do not offer the bulb for the reverse lamp.

At 50% off the bulbs now cost $17.50 a pair!
