JCW Handbrake Grip question...

Has anyone installed the JCW Handbrake grip themselves? I didn't realize until yesterday that the JCW part needs to be glued on. I checked out the instructions at Motoringfile and it mentioned "Sikaflex"?? A Google search turned up alot of German sites so if anyone has installed this on their own... what adhesive would you recommend.

Thx

I think I have read somewhere that people that have installed them have not used glue. They simply have built up the diameter if the e-brake with masking tape until their is a force fit. That way if you ever have to remove it you will not destroy it. Steve

there was a post on MINI2 about this

There was a post about this on the MINI2 board. I used masking tape and built up the diameter enough to gain a nice tight fit. -Bob

Thx, I'll go out tomorrow and give it a try. I'm thinking if I take my time and wrap the electrical tape around it one layer at a time, it'll go on clean and, if I ever want to, I should be able to take it off cleanly as well
