Un-identifiable color

Saw a hard top MINI this morning on my way to work and it was a very different color. Maybe it was a custom paint job but it wasn't anything fancy (no wheels or ground effects) looked very stock.

Anyway the color looked like a brown metalic with a burgundy tint to it or vice versa. Is this a new or old stock color?

Just curious

the only current stock color with a brown hue is Royal Grey

I agree...it was probably Royal Grey, which has a pewter-ish quality. Depending on the light, it takes on olive green and/or taupe coloring. It is very subtle and very classy.

I'm laying odds that it was the Velvet Red... It can appear a bit brownish or really pop w/ the dark red... all depending on the light.

Velvet Red is an unmistakable burgandy color. It's an old color (Coopers only, I believe).

Royal Grey is new and "color-shifting", it can look brown, grey, pewter, silver, etc. If you really couldn't figure out what to call it, it's probably RG.

Velvet Red was originally called "Root Beer"

I'm betting on VR, AKA Velvet Red.. It can look brownish in the shade or on overcast days. The sun brings out the red part!

Hey! Don't get him mad at me. He will sic his 6-year old little girl on me and then I'll be in trouble (a quote from her at the engine damper install: "Don't make me bite you!").

I'm only saying that "brown metalic with a burgundy tint to it or vice versa" is almost a perfect description for VR.

You know, just from the subject "un-identifiable color", I was pretty sure it would be velvet red.

The only other possibility would be royal grey. But if your first thought was "brown" it was velvet red.

That VELVET RED/ROOTBEER is definitely what I saw - very unique. Almost as nice as my HOT ORANGE!

Thanks for your input.
