does anyone have a spare parcel shelf nut (the blue plastic one)? My shelf came with one. I jerry rigged the other, and called the dealer today. It is an order only part and will take a couple of weeks to arrive. If you have one and would be willing to mail it to me let me know. thank you. pm or email flames_2s@yahoo.com

Almost all MINI parts are order only. But the dealer should be able to get them in 2 days, not 2 weeks. Call another dealer near you and see if they can get them sooner.

HARMINI, very good thought, but not everyone is lucky to have a MINI dealer, let alone two in their area. My closest dealer is 300 miles away.

But maybe they'll mail something to you, especially as small as this, and it would probably be less than "a couple of weeks", which could be quite a while in car dealerspeak. I've actually considered ordering an oil filter from a dealer far away, just because my dealer (Herb Chambers, Boston) charges so much for it. It would end up costing me the same amount with shipping, but HC doesn't get his dirty hands on my money. I think the USPS needs it more!

Hey Darksky,

Do you mean the blue nuts for the driver's side parcel shelf?? They slide onto the dash components?

If that's the case, you're in luck. I have 3 extras I just found.

I'll PM you, too.

I'm not going to make a joke about this, but I will ask where the third one came from?

Jerry - adj. Chiefly British slang for a German or Germans collectively.

Thus, jerry-rigged or jerry-built seem particularly appropriate for the MINI.

I wondered why this thread had such a long life...

I'm sorry Brad. I stand corrected. I thought jerry-rig was a funny error. This is one of those "ya learn something new everyday" things.
