Show me your GRILL!

I need to convince the budget comitee (girlfriend/2nd driver) to do the M7 ultimate grills in black on my 2005 MC AB/W. I talked with M7 and they said it will fit the regular cooper no prob. I would also consider doing the Aero grill, but I think the M7 grill is a really nice quality product, and it's not plastic.

So, if u have them, please post some pics of ur car with them on! Even if ur car is a different color, or an "S", I would love to see them.

I did search and found a few pics, but I would like to have this be like the "Show me your WHEELS" style show off thread, where u can just post pics and experiences.

THANKS!

-Steve

and here is a closeup (with some bugs):

I had the OEM Aero grills and I was never very happy with them. I have had the M7 grills since April and love them. Hope that helps.

I just installed the Aero Kit, but before I had blacked out my grill with some tape I bought at the Advanced Auto. The black grill definately changed the look.

Nice closeup shot!

Yes GrillCraft makes the M7 Ultimate grills, but from what I have seen you can not get the upper or middle grills anywhere else but from M7. Additionally, M7 has rear bumper inserts that match.

As you can see, I didn't like the little 'GrillCraft' logo that came on the grill... a pair of wire snips took it right off!

Replacing the lower grill was definately one of my better exterior mods (right after painting the arches).

Unfortunately, the stock lower grill is plastic. It is a much larger piece that you would imagine from the picture and it reaches up high enough to provide something for the screws for the front license plate holder to screw into. To keep my stock license plate holder working, I had to cut the stock lower grill piece so that the upper section was still installed to retain the plate holder and the lower section could be removed

The metal grill also makes a perfect place to mount club and event badges! My MOTD 2006 badge will go on the other side this weekend!

Not black, but shouldn't be hard to find one in black. I picked mine up at a local auto parts store for about $35.00. Not too bad.

Couldn't find a decient pic before I added the lights....

Maxmini: Did the hole for the tow-eye come pre-cut with your grill? Mine doesn't have one!

As the vast majority of owners do not use their tow hook the grill comes without a hole. I used a pair of dikes , excuse me , Diagonal wire cutters to make the hole . I also got a rubber grommet from Home Depot to finish off the job.

Actually they are PIAA 1500 driving lights . As I had sacraficed my fog lights for brake ducts I needed a little more punch down the road .Our canyons get REAL dark at night and I was running out of light. They are not in an optimum location but they still do the job.

M7 grills are awesome

But they cost just under 350 for a full front set Certainly my favorite looking grill out there though. I just can't see myself spending three hunred and fifty dollars on them. All in all they are just metal. Just very, very nice, well designed metal....

And an Aston Martin is just a car Seriously I do understand your point and our grills are certainly not for everyone. Actually that can be said for most of our parts. To be completely accurate it is closer to $ 500 for the complete set including the rear pair.

For those who may be thinking of a black grille, here's another approach. I simply replaced my red parts with black ones!
