Seat Belt Sash Extender

I am 5'4", which I thought was pretty average, but even with the seat belt adjusted for mildly vertically challenged people like me, the diagonal shoulder/chest belt still cuts too high on my shoulder and chafes my neck.

If I could only get a sash (straight section on right side of driver) extender which would take it from my extreme right side to just above/in front of my right hip, it would be okay. As it is, any extenders I have been able to find extend the diagonal belt, not the sash. I have found belt adjusters (like the ones for kids) but they keep slipping and I wind up getting "choked" anyway... .

Anyone have any ideas or know of a vender that sells these?...or am I on a wild goose chase? Mick/Blue

My wife is about 5 3 1/2". A sash won't help, I do not believe. You need one of these that moves where you want it. They are soft and work well.

I find it kind of odd that the seat belt is cutting into your neck. I'm also ~5'4" but have no problems with the seat belt. And you sure your seat is adjusted correctly? I know that may sound stupid, but is you seat actually straight and not leaned back much? When I was driving my truck I had a problem (because I drove with my seat leaned way back) and sometimes the seatbelt would get in my way.

Best of luck.

I think it depends on how long your upper body is. I'm also 5'4" and the seat belt drives me nuts. When on a long drive I will sometimes just hold it away from my body for a bit to get some relief from the irritation.
I have the thing in the door pillar adjusted all the way down and the belt still sits too high up. I just bought some kid clip thing at Walmart and will try that this week.

Just wondering....have you tried to adjust the seat height? Maybe it's all of the way down?

I have the same problem as BoCRon, the belt is adjusted as well as it's going to be, ditto for the seat...The angle of the shoulder strap cuts high and into the side of my neck/top of shoulder...it is not comy at all for long drives (which I do often).

I have tried all sorts of selt belt adjusts and have realized that if the sash were a little longer, the angel of the shoulder strap would change and not chafe my neck....If I can't find one on the market, hubby is a tinkerer and is more than capable of making one for me. But I'd rather not bother him with another project, he's plenty busy enough. Mick/Blue

Just see my pic above. It will do the trick. You can also get those in sheepskin, very soft.

I see some really neat seat covers that would look perfect in my PH/Red MINI! But the gadget on the shoulder strap: does it feel bulky? Mick/Blue

No, its very soft. If you get the pad with sheepskin, then its bulky.
