Thoughts on the following accessories...

What is everyones opinion on the following items that I want to add to my Mini Cooper Cabrio S:

1. Blue Ignition wires- How do they look?

2. Color Coordinated Shift *****- i.e. Cool Blue from Mini

3. Illuminated Door sills- Seems expensive, but are they cool looking?

4. Invisishield- Does it really work? Is it worth the money? Does it prevent nicks from stones?

5. Aero Sides and Painted Arches- Do you need to get the complete aero kit or can you just get the sides and paint it to match the car? What do you need to do for the arches? I was quoted by Classic Mini in Cleveland $410.00 for the sides and arches plus $685.00 to install and paint. Seems reasonable.

6. The Wind Deflector- Everyone seems to think it is worth the money. I dont think the wind is a big issue for me. Does it cut down on wind noise big time?

Thanks for any suggestions!

>1. Blue Ignition wires- How do they look?

KEN: imho, who cares.

>2. Color Coordinated Shift *****- i.e. Cool Blue from Mini

KEN: too rice

>3. Illuminated Door sills- Seems expensive, but are they cool looking?

KEN: maybe....but again, too rice.

>4. Invisishield- Does it really work? Is it worth the money? Does it prevent nicks from stones?

KEN: i would use xpel instead. www.autopaintguard.com
and yes, they work very well.

>5. Aero Sides and Painted Arches- Do you need to get the complete aero kit or can you just get the sides and paint it to match the car? What do you need to do for the arches? KEN: you can just buy the sides from www.outmotoring.com or classic mini.
i'd get them painted, but install it myself.

>6. The Wind Deflector- Everyone seems to think it is worth the money. I dont think the wind is a big issue for me. Does it cut down on wind noise big time?

KEN: it's useless piece of plastic for me.

(above are all my opinions, so don't get offended or anything).

well, for #3(illuminated door sills) you can find very nice ones on ebay for like $30. my GF bought ones for her MC and they look awesome! much better than the factory ones. you should probably look there if money is a issue, it certainly is for me!

For the Cabrio as the interior is an extansion of the exterior I think the color matching would look nice.

3- they look cool; but to me they're not worth more than $50, and I'll probably make them on my own for less than $25 if I get bored on a weekend.

4- do a search for clear bra and you will find plently of opinions and testimonials

5-You can buy the sides seperately, did classics quote include the NAM discount? also there are the trusted vendors Ken listed

6-on a hardtop I'd say he deflector is a waste of money but on a cabrio, I've heard many say they wouldn't leave without it it has such a dramatic effect, you may want to ask around in the cabrio section to get more dedtails.

I have a product called the Venture Shield, a clear bra. It works great 18,000 miles no chips

Painted arches are the way to go! They look gorgeous. And yes, I'm totally biased.

Can you post pics of her door sills?
I just looked on ebay and didn't find anything for 30 bills, or anything for a Mini for that matter.
Can you post a link?
Thanks!
