Great mods

I painted the inside of the hood scoop. I used a high temp engine paint. I am also using this same type of paint under the bonnet for my engine bay. Will post more later.

I REALLY like that idea. Just a slight peek of color depending upon the angle that you are looking at the car. Great idea!

A few more ideas, thanks for the comment on the scoop, chase.

I have been trying to carry a little red theme to match the "S"

May try an exterior red pinstripe later on.

I really like the Craven strut tower defenders now i have an std that my wife being a nurse should get the humor.

Check out my gallery for a low cost NUVI mount. Details are in the Navigation/Audio forum.

I've had my Nuvi 350 mounted in about that same spot (using a ProClip-based custom mount) for about a year - and it works GREAT - reception is strong. I have a convertible, so YMMV...

As BlimeyCabrio states, reception on my Nuvi 360 is great!

I initially mounted the Nuvi in my driver's side cupholder but had an occasional loss of signal.

I had already removed the factory cupholder anyway so the next step was to figure out how I could convert it to a Nuvi holder. It was a fun exercise!!

Will those navi things work in any country? Like if I buy one in northamerica, can I use it in any country? Do they have expansion packs that add maps? I won't need a navi for a few more years though.

You can buy portable navs that work in any country. They are generally more expensive. Garmin sells two basic packages: North America and Europe. If you have a capable model, you can buy the package that didn't come with your unit for $200-250.

Here's a mod idea that I lifted from Gnatster. These are engine compartment braces from the Cabrio, fitted to my Coupe. The passenger side went right on, but one of the lower bolts on the driver's side was a PITA and took me atleast 45 minutes to get in there!

I hope that the red adds my own little touch to the mod... I'm lovin' the little extra splash of color and it moves my red theme a bit more to the outside of the engine bay.

I'll apoligize in advance for the quality of the photos... I took 'em with my iPhone at night.

The added red color is very nice. Did you paint them yourself or did you have someone paint/powdercoat them for you?

I degreased 'em, sanded 'em down a bit and hit 'em with high-temp primer and 2 coats of high-temp paint. If I had thought about it, I would have baked 'em off a bit in the oven to cure the paint more quickly... I got a couple nicks during installation due to new paint.

Interesting, how's the ground clearance issues? I have trouble backing out of my driveway without scraping.

Looks cool either way!
